As far as I have been able to tell, no weapon has min damage or dropoff area values listed in the files, at least not in the sheets usually consulted for stats. My understanding (and correct me if I'm wrong) is that all of the min damage and dropoff info you've seen was acquired by testing and extrapolation (i.e. this gun has this damage model so all faction weapons with the same weapon type and starting damage probably have the same model).


I've actually trialed and tested every gun with the exception of the smgs, bolt action snipers, max weapons, and vehicle weapons. I've also not had the opportunity to test the separate ammo types with every weapon that has them, just many. As for the recent developer post of Soft Point Ammunition, I guess I get to do testing with that again since they claim there is no damage loss at range.

As for the testing, I actually use two clients. On the client shooting I set a waypoint and then position the other client directly on top of the marker. On the client getting shot I use a memory reading program to display the actual number for the current amount of shields so I can see the (near) exact damage each shot does at each range. I then test the damage every 5m (0m,5m,10m,etc) with the exception being that I test damage at 11m as well. With most guns, I've tested out to 100m to be sure of the minimum damage. For the weapons with falloff that ends after 100m I go out to 150m or more (to 250m in the case of the VA39 Spectre and the Phantom).

Also, usually you add the Weapon Names to both the 'Fun Stuff' Sheet and the 'ClientItemDatasheetData' Sheet. The weapons: Blitz GD-10; PDW-16 Hailstorm; and Sirius SX12 have only been added to the 'Fun Stuff' Sheet. Is it possible to add them to your 'ClientItemDatasheetData' Sheet also?

I use the 'ClientItemDatasheetData' Sheet to help me in search for new weapon IDs, I can see the ones you have already found and know I can avoid them.

I'll add the second round smgs and the pump action shotguns to ClientItemDatasheetData soon.

As for all those other guns, I'm not particularly interested in adding non-infantry weapons (ps2calc.com does a great job with vehicle weapons).

In regards to adding extra columns, I keep the sheet so it just barely fits in 1920 pixels without zooming. Unless I can figure out how to save some space on current columns or deicde remove some current columns I won't be adding more.
GRAVITY is already listed as Projectile Drop (last column in the sheet), HEAD_SHOT_DAMAGE_MULTIPLIER was removed in the latest patch, and DAMAGE_RADIUS or RECOIL_SHOT_AT_MIN_MAGNITUDE or PELLET SPREAD are only useful for a limited number of weapons.
FIRE_DETECT_RANGE is neat, but I feel the current columns are more useful.

Thanks for adding the SMGs and pumps shotguns soon.

About the extra columns, I can respect trying to keep it to a minimum for screen real estate.

Shame they removed the HEAD_SHOT_DAMAGE_MULTIPLIER, I wonder if that means that all head shots do double dame now instead of a variable amount?
