Balls of Steel

I'm going for the Balls of Steel operation (get kills with only a combat knife equipped). What is the best load out for knifing to complete this challenge? Throwing knives don't count towards the operation but I've used it just in case someone spots me and I'm too far to knife them. What perks should I run? I know marathon, agility, and dead silence are a must. What other perks should I use? And what killstreak should I use? Assault, support, or specialist? I've been using specialist to gain more perks.

I've almost completed the challenge on gold so just in case someone else decides to try it here is the load out that I have had the most success with.

Primary - Combat knife
no secondary or tactical grenade
Lethal - Throwing knife
Perks - marathon, agility, takedown, dead silence, blast shield and hardline
Specialist - resilience, icu
Specialist bonis - off the grid, incog, and amplify

If you choose to not run specialist then I suggest substituting hardline with amplify. incog is useful as well because it prevents enemy call outs. Change this class as you like but in my opinion, marathon, agility, takedown, and dead silence are absolutely essential

Using hard lineline in specialist is a waste of time unless your goal is just to get the specialists patches. The reason being that using a perk slot in order to gain another perk quicker is counterproductive. Just substitute hardline for the perk you want.
If however you are trying for the specialist patch, then hard line is fine, followed by 3 of the 1 point perk rewards so you can reach your bonus quicker.

Using hardline just reduces specialists effectiveness essentially.
