EA to lay off 500+ workers? (Rumour)

Well I have been reading that EA might be planning on laying off 500+ workers due to the sales of BF3 and Star Wars The Old Republic not selling up to standards. I really hope that EA won't do this, but I'm afraid they may have to because taking a look at their stock price, they have dropped tremendously.

EA has proven time and time again they are out to make the most money at the lowest cost. Not that that is the wrong thing to do in any way. They sell good games. Still if they think they stand to make more money firing 500 staff I think little will stop them.

EA possibly having second thoughts about Dice being their go-to for mega budgeted FPS games? Probably wise.

The Dev team must have grown ten fold for the development of BF3, so I guess this shouldn't be a big surprise
