Well good luck to ya, job hunting is hell.

Trying to get a good job sucks. I might be going to grad school just to make myself look employable since I couldn't do internships because of my mother.

Never tried these online course things (coursera, this etc). How does it exactly work with this one? Does the teacher put up material online for you to read and some tasks along with it? Does he check your answers (reaaaally doubt that. Maybe posts right answers)?
I have always liked proper "lecture-demo" courses more instead of online courses. They just feel hallow and even with the most interesting topic it can be pain to do (this is just my personal opinion).
Links to users' thread list who have made analytical/statistical/mathematical/cool posts on Symthic:
  • 3VerstsNorth - Analysis of game mechanics in BF4 (tickrates, effects of tickrate, etc)
  • leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
  • Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.
  • Miffyli - Random statistical analysis of BF4 battlereports/players and kill-distances. (list is cluttered with other threads).
Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

"Please note: you cannot receive credit, a degree, or a certificate upon completion of OCW materials. OCW does not have registration or enrollment options, and we do not provide interaction or direct contact with MIT faculty, staff, or students."

The main question I would ask is how up to date is the information provided.

actually scratch that. Looked it up myself

Instructor(s)
Prof. **** Kanwisher
As Taught In
Fall 2007

Course Number
9.71
Level
Undergraduate
----- e.g. I went med cuz its wut I knoe. Direct Linkage to courses Find Courses by Topic | MIT OpenCourseWare | Free Online Course Materials

the latest I saw was 2012 with majority being from 2000-2007

It is likely even if you could gain a degree MIT wouldnt give you one as this info is wildly out of date. * does not imply innaccurate And if I know colleges you better do what they did this year or bugger off.

If using for actual current college coursework I would be VERY VERY VERY careful. Minute differences can be extremely important and the difference between years. Knew there was a catch somewhere.

Heh, I went through a few lectures from this Nancy Kanwisher's course - good slides and still accurate info albeit slightly outdated in the sense that these topics are better understood nowadays - even though the data presented in the course is still valid - i.e., this is good material for anyone in the field.

It's free. Everything for which you might fault the whole thing is implied.

I was just looking into learning Spanish finally (been meaning to for a while.) I was looking around at local tech schools, but I think I'm going to use this instead. My room mate is Hispanic, and knows Spanish pretty well. So, I'll have someone to talk to/practice with.
