GPU issues BF4

I have to repair a PC for a customer because he wants to play BF4 but I have no idea how to fix it.
When you play BF4 on it, there are some graphical glitches that randomly appear (eg big columns, flashing bars, objects getting pixelated).
I've upgraded the GPU drivers, changed GPU slots on the motherboard, updated the BIOS, upgraded the PSU, changed the settings to low but nothing helps.
The game runs at 130FPS on Ultra settings though.

Specs:
RAM: 16GB
Mobo: ASUS P6T SE
GPU: AMD RADEON R9 200 series
BIOS: AMI v 0908
CPU: i7 930 @2,8ghz 4 cores

Any help would be appreciated.

I've upgraded the GPU drivers

Probably, that's what did it.
Have you tried googling for the last BF4 friendly drivers and installing those after completely getting rid of the old ones?

What are the chances it's an aftermarket R9 290?

Only tried BF4 because it's the only game installed.
Temperature is fine, it has 6 coolers.

What do you mean by aftermarket?
He bought it new on a website.

Do you really think that'd help and not ruin other progresses?

I have a hard time believing it's that. However, if you can't think of anything else to try, why not? It's not like previous drivers are going to break anything.

Aftermarket means non-reference.

TLDR -
Teamwork is where players function by themselves, but their effectiveness is multiplied when they work together. Not a checklist of "did we bring a healer so we can start playing?"

Sounds kinda like what I have. My 7970 (even without OCs) randomly starts creating same kind of artifacts you speak of (polygons flying around, and spesifically in BF4 they create bit colums you speak of). I have had this GPU for a year and tried to fix this every now and then but no luck. Either it's very persistent glitch somewhere in software, or there's tiny bit of hardware broken. Haven't sent it to warranty, because it happens so rarely.
Also these artifacts only happen during games, never during stress tests.

TL;DR: How about hardware problem? Stress tests don't show my bug, but I get artifacting in games from time to time.

  • leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
  • Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.
  • Miffyli - Random statistical analysis of BF4 battlereports/players and kill-distances. (list is cluttered with other threads).
Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

Yours must be hardware, because mine has never done anything like that.

Yeap, knew this for a quite a while now. Btw which 7970 spesifically do you have? I have ASUS DC2T, and apparently more than few have had problems with that one (some had problem with overheating, some have had problems with factory overclock. Downclocking mine didn't help).
Sorry, not trying to ninja topic, but had to ask because curious.
