Makes sense since Magpul charges an arm and a leg for licensing, on top of everything else they sell. Magpul is essentially the Louis Vuitton of firearms. Example : a sling point that probably costs at most $10 to produce selling for over three times that because everyone wants Magpul stuff to be as tacticool as humanly possible.PDW-R is just another name of the Magpul PDR: Magpul PDR - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think Dice did it to avoid licencing costs.

And yet they've put the Barrett M82 in the game too. A gun from a company that not only charges an arm and a leg but will also bury you alive if you don't make the weapon "their way"...
Hence why its got practically no recoil and is an instant kill at all ranges...
I once tried to burn a bridge, but due to the half-assed levolution implementation it kept standing up just fine.
Compared to the MTAR, the PDR has the TTK of your average pack of cigarettes.

Does Barrett actually do that? Source required. Either way, the OHK at all ranges makes sense at least: IRL a .50BMG round carries enough energy (between 17,000 and 20,500J of muzzle energy, depending on who's making it -- for comparison the 7.62mm NATO round puts out 3,304-3,506J of muzzle energy) to rip someone in half from a mile away. The "no recoil" deal though... If Barrett did pull some strings, it'd probably be here. No way in hell that the thing would kick so light from firing such a huge round.

Quoted
Another key concern is that the weapon functions in a realistic manner. Barrett insists the game developer purchases one of the company's guns to aid the 3D modellers in their work. "[The gun must] perform to the standards that our rifles do in the real world," Vaughn says. "Barrett firearms is known for its quality and the brand must always be placed on that foundation."

"We want to know explicitly how the rifle is to be used, ensuring that we are shown in a positive light... Such as the 'good guys' using the rifle," says Vaughn. His company insists that its gun isn't "used by individuals, organisations, countries or companies that would be shown as enemies of the United States or its citizens." Ideally, Vaughn says, Barrett's gun will only be used "by US law enforcement or US military".

Now I don't know how valid this is (internet articles yay), but apparently that info is straight from company who makes Barrets and such.

Playing some BF4 for some time again. For first three servers I get the "Check you have UDP port blabla open blabla" randomly, and on the fourth server I see lots of rank stacking going on once again + a group/clan I see pretty often when I play on those servers. Usually I just shrug it off as there's like 2-3 of them there and playing fair in one helicopter or so (altho dominating opposite team) but this time they stole our helis (attack and transport), spawnraped us with both of those and whined at me when I shot one of them down with Stinger.
Gotta admit I chuckled bit at the whining.

that moment when you're in the attack chopper's gunner seat and your pilot 1) won't bring the nose up for TVM goodness and 2) gets chased out of the combat zone by fucking ARM's.
If it flies, it dies™.
