@Miffyli

It is KINDA understandable in that I am using the exact same graphical settings in both resolutions: all Ultra but AA off.

But still, R6: Siege has a quick Benchmark tool, so here are the results.

1440p, SLI: 61FPS

1080p, SLI: 91FPS

1440p, no-SLI: 50FPS

1080p, no-SLI: 83FPS

GPU utilisation on both cards when SLI enabled was ~60%, so SLI is "working" but the scaling is terrible.

Inquisition (which is Frostbite 3 as you know) then gets 90% utilisation on both cards. On the biggest map (Hinterlands) it is ~60FPS which should be "fine" but still noticeable in terms of response vs. 90+. Such performance is not REALLY needed there but it might be for something like BF4 or the upcoming BF1.

For continuity sake and with respect to the upcoming BF1, I may just stick with 1080p upscaled on this setup. Wait for the 1080s to go back to 1440p.

Heads up to anyone using an Imgur uploader extension for Chrome like I was: PSA: "Imgur Uploader" is injecting ads on Google and many different domains : technology

In my case it injected Search Enhanced Results, which is an ad-ware browser hijacker that is incredibly annoying to get rid of. I finally killed it last night after about three hours of fucking about, because it wasn't located locally on my machine. Most commonly affected website seems to be Linkedin, but the actual spy-ware portion comes directly from the extension.

SLi is completely broke, and in many ways, on my system. It'll work fine for about three days after a driver install, but then my performance will tank, and I'll get huge stuttering and low framerate, and have to revert to single GPU. Installing drivers again will fix the issue, but I have to again disable SLi after three days.

That said, when SLi works, it scales very well on my 2 780tis.

"you obviously don't know what an argument is as there is only one person battling. Do you really fucking think I want subs? You think you can act all big and powerful just because you sit on a computer at least 6 hours a day like the probably nerdy unwanted retard you are with 4.3k subs? You think 4.3k subs is a lot? LOL you need medicine man. I don't want any subs as i just have a google account for other media and writing comments. Think twice before you act. You even said in your video you aren't that great of a player, and the comments agree you aren't. Maybe you should once again think twice before you act, stop being such an annoying, ignorant bastard that everyone wants to shut up, and god, literally, just shut up. Your voice gave me a headache :s"

"As a youtuber shouldn't be trying to be reeling in your viewers with exciting stuff being said not your boring ass commentary for your video"

"The more you watch his vid the dumber he gets I swear he's borderline autistic look I got shot behind cover beacuase thin sheets metal are unpenetrable. Bf4 is just as quiet and tactical as bf3 random explosion in the background . Player has dissconected from chat
You started playing bf3 and never touched bfc1/2. Please do yourself a favor and shutdown your generic cod channel down"

"Nice clickb8 Faggot w8ting for your shit tier video to disable comments . Fucking newfag cancer go play some cod you activisiom cock faggot"

"I don't see why he [MarbleDuck] always tries to shit on levelcap he is better and has a million more subs...and also "there isnt a best gun in she game there are guns that are better that others at different engagement distances" yes thats true and whichever is the best/most average at all of them is the "best gun""

"Marbleduck you don't know shit lol levelcap knows more than you do you cant talk about how someone puts up garbage when you do yourself your a newcomer to YouTube acting like you know shit step up in the food chain first then you have the right to talk otherwise your just a fish trying to compete with sharks"

"Why don't we just witness "LevelCap vs MarbleDuck" One on One both on Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 seen as there is so much Controversy about the Two Youtubers"

"stfu cunt, BF3 was way better end of discussion"

"Stfu man, you're be littleing the most looked upon Battlefield Youtuber. No one cares about you, how much of an ego you have, or quite frankly your opinion. It's a fucking game.... Does it really fucking matter? Pathetic man."

"fuck you asshole, dont talk shit about total"

"Wtf is your problem? You have no subs and he has millions, yet you pick on him like some kind of stubborn, ignorant, rude child born with a silver spoon is his mouth. It's easy to do that, for example... You said there was no background noise yet there is. You say you're a fairly good player, you're not."

@marbleduck
Huh, I thought SLI was decent upgrade if you had to choose between buying cheaper partner for your current one vs. buying completely new one for higher price, but guess it was more complicated than that.

And 1070 benchmarks just got in. Based on few benchmarks and reviews seems like GTX1070 comes in par Titan X and beats it at times, not to mention it seems to overclock very well, altho review samples often seem to be top of the cream.
Still keeping my hopes up for a decent AMD Polaris card that could rival 1070. Looks like in past AMD's top (290x, 390x) has been on same levels with GTX x70 series GPUs, so maybe Polaris does this same (granted they are not aiming for flagships with Polaris, that is apparently coming later this year).

SLI seems to vary a lot.
A friend of mine is running FX-9590 and 3-way GTX660s (3 is nonsense, IMO)
But numbers don't lie, enabling SLI he gets around 2.2-2.5x the performance in BF4 and around 2x performance in Planetside 2.

Now, I realize that it sounds like I am whining about my computer's performance. I would like to clarify that I am not. I have a few hardware review sites bookmarked and read them daily, and my computer is pretty much performing just as what they benchmarked: ~100FPS in BF4, 60-80FPS in Inquisition, ~60FPS in Siege.

The difference being, those articles usually declare 60FPS minimum to be "playable," and if your rig performs over that, then add eye candy. Not to get too deep into human reaction times and hand-eye coordination and all that jazz, but I just play better when the framerate is higher, with dips below 60FPS being detrimental.

It almost feel like I want to be over 100FPS all the time, but I don't want to change any settings... and I want to UP the resolution to my new Native Res. I thought adding a 2nd 980 would do it, but it just will not. That's not the hardwares' fault... the blame lies fully in my expectations :(

I guess that's why most YouTubers have insanely powerful computers (then again those are probably tax write-offs) and then seemingly play on 1080p (according to BF4 UI size that I can see at least) and also lower graphical settings. A lot of them use NVIDIA ShadowPlay, with its built-in FPS counter, and the framerate is always pegged at 150.

So, I had enough of my lousy loud power supply and ordered an EVGA Supernova 750 G2. According to Tom's Hardware it's a Tier 1 PSU. My other choice would have been the Corsair RM750i (also T1), but it's like 20 euros more expensive and only differences would have been ribbon cables and a shorter warranty.

So what I've been thinking is what do I do w/ the NF-F12 that I have in my old PSU?
-Do I swap it with the stock fan on Hyper 212 Evo (evo fan to case front)
or
-just put the nf-f12 to case front (intake, filtered)

They probably forgot to mention it being able to heat your entire house. All I have to say is we'll see when it comes out. I'd love for there to be some competition between Red and Green again, it forces both of them to make better cards, but AMD hasn't done anything that has instilled confidence for quite some time.
