Can someone please recommend me some good dubstep artists? I like the really heavy stuff

Artist list in the description. Ephixa themselves is also pretty good.

Blackmill is like the opposite of heavy.

Yeah Blackmill is amazing. Check out Ramsese B he is a similar artist.

I shall :)
I don't like Dubstep however I wouldn't call this 'Dubstep', its a lot softer and nicer to listen to compared to the usual "WEEEEE BWWWWAAAA BWWWWAAAA WUBWUBWUBWUBWUB" garbage you get...But that's just me :D

Yeah its more chillstep than dubstep. I am into all that to be honest, don't know just sounds good to me.

Yeah its more chillstep than dubstep. I am into all that to be honest, don't know just sounds good to me.

Never heard the term chillstep before. Kind of apt. I've more often heard of it referred to as liquid-dubstep/post-dubstep.

Either way, it's an incredible sound that seems to have been lost in amongst all of the aggressive commercial dubstep/brostep and tarred with the same brush.

Some of the big movers and shakers of the post dubstep genre would be Mount Kimbie, James Blake, SBTRKT...

However, I've been a big fan of Burial right from the very beginning, and while he sometimes blurs the line between post dubstep and minimal techno, glitch and other genres, there is no one, and I mean no one that can build a baseline like Will Bevan does as Burial. His self titled album is mellow yet dirty all at the same time, and demands playing through good bass heavy speakers/phones. Since his second album (Untrue), he's moved into more experimental EPs rather than producing new albums. Here are 2 tracks, one from each of the last two of these EPs.

Mmmmmmmeeeeehhhhhh, didn't like them much. Too much clanking around and horrible scratching of records :pinch:
I think its gotta have some sort of melody to it to get me interested, that Blackmill one has a great little chord going through the whole thing :)

That's a fair comment I guess. Though Burial really needs listening through from the beginning without skipping as the way it builds is what's so magical about the way he produces music. Try some of his earlier stuff.

It's all down to personal tastes really. There's a lot to be said for the idea that Burial is an artist for those who grew up with alternative electronic music through the 90's and into the early 21st.

Otherwise, try out some SBTRKT stuff. Solid post dubstep, and really damn catchy stuff.
