I get a funny feeling I'm the only hiphop head around here but in case I'm not:

RTJ3

it's free and it's hiphop album of the decade. Highly recommended for background music while flying ;)

Lyrics here if you like poetry. 'Thursday in the Danger Room' is incredible and if you're not into hiphop this might broaden your horizons a little.

i don't even know if "calling" works on people who are ignoring you, but eh, i'll try anyway.

while listening to some yes(going for the one, sound chaser) i ended up on this album from a metal band, with the premise that they sounded a bit like Yes,while they do, they also have math rock influences(e.g. giraffes?giraffes) but are way more metal and focus on different instruments, namely guitar and bass, and i don't dislike them if it wasn't for the ear-crushing vocalist.... but that's mainly because i don't enjoy metal as a whole, so i thought maybe you could've liked it as you always listen to metal? i'd like to read your thoughts on it.

It does work. Despite what an Ignore List is actually for, I do read pretty much everything I get quoted in. Don't usually reply but I'm in a really good mood and it's in the music thread: so why not? :)

Yeah, I'm getting pretty strong vibes of Yes as well, tis nice and bouncy at times. They also remind me a great deal of Opeth's newer work (which honestly you might enjoy), only a bit heavier. They also remind me a lot of Meshuggah's very early work on Contradictions Collapse and Destroy Erase Improve; Heavy/Thrash stylings with an atypical structure, only Meshuggah go for much heavier vocals.
I wouldn't personally describe the vocalist as "ear-crushing" (with the exception of the end of "Insect" where he pulls a death growl out of no-where!), he reminds me a bit of Ozzy or even Peter Gabriel (as well as Mikael from Opeth). But I know that's a highly subjective opinion :P

Being honest: I like this! I'm always posting Heavy/Extreme Metal around here but I've always had a soft spot for Prog Rock (honestly I think everyone has). Had a quick dig around online and it seems like this is their first-and-only full-length album, with the band quoted as being "in hibernation" which makes me a bit sad...
Yeah, thanks for this man! I'm liking these guys a bunch

well the "ear crushing part" was actually in reference to how i despise the vocalist... i was going to ask if you got anyone who made pretty much the same music but instrumental or with better vocals in fact... i like them too but that voice really breaks it for me, i just can't like it.
and yes, that description is quite hilarious, ridiculous i'd say.

about opeth: well they're not bad, definitely nowhere near as good as the stuff i usually listen to(or at least so it seems at first glance... which is probably the truth anyway) , but also not bad at all to be current decade music, i can see myself listening to them in idle while browsing, but not much more(which is still a lot for such a modern band to be honest)

also unrelated, but that reminds me days ago i was listening to the first 3 albums of deep purple to see how they sounded at the very start(something i did with almost all the bands i ever listened to) but stopped for i don't know what reason... i should get back to it, iirc i was at the second album,
Deep Purple The Book Of Taliesyn Full Album Remastered Edition - YouTube

not that i usually listen to deep purple anyway, but they are what got me into rock in general and detached me from shitty neomelodic italian music back when i was 10-12 years old.

I'm really getting into grime lately. Skepta, JME, Dizze Rascal - they're all amazing.

@SomeRandomGuy

then you should hear prog rock, as prog rock is what started pop, but isn't pop at all(you can feel this mostly in italian prog, like as we talked before with concerto grosso by neww trolls, even more notable in concerto grosso 2, where at that point it's pretty much just pop) it's a bit odd, but do it, there's some really good stuff out there.
if you want something peculiar check gentle giant and the gong, something more technical, yes up to tornato and emerson lake & palmer up to works, something more pop electric light orchestra and the aforementioned concerto grosso 1, something more rock king crimson, psychedelic... wel, gong were already psychedelic, but add to that the early pink floyd, and last, something i'd consider "exotic" for non italians: italian prog

italian prog is genre by itself, there's some of the weirdest and coolest stuff there, for now just check museo rosenbach's zarathustra and banco del mutuo soccorso(personally i love the album Darwin) i'll asky my brother for some other italiand bands later, it's morning already here anyway.

p.s.:my father liked the gift, though he still hasn't listened to the album.

pps: listen to this for the pink floyd
Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii Saucerful of Secrets - YouTube
and then, a saucerful of secrets and the previously mentioned zebriskie point.
(late reply, I know)

I actually like Rush's prog quite a bit, mainly for Peart's masterful performances. I very much enjoy Pink Floyd's and ELO's work; "Money" and "Mr. Blue Sky", especially.

Italian prog is something I've never heard of, sounds intriguing.

Still waiting for Arctic Monkeys' upcoming new album. Alex Turner recently said in an interview that he's recording a new one with the other band members now.

To be honest, I got into a few of the band's songs because of my brother, who likes a lot of alternative and surf rock. My favorite song from them has to be "Brianstorm" (next to "A Certain Romance).

Well, hmm, yeah... but no. Sorry.

Ruined Grieg's "In the Hall of the Mountain King," bad flute playing, random melodies everywhere; I don't really get it.

Currently playing this song. It's a lot of fun. Speed this up to 1.25x for the full tempo though.
something something Model 8 bestgun

How to ice an A-91

Next, wanna try adding a guy that you KNOW is bad, and just testing to see that? Example: PP-2000 (god I so wanna love this gun, and yet...)

Example: PP-2000 (god I so wanna love this gun, and yet...)

PP-2000 added. Y'know, it's not that bad....

Yes, it comes in last so far, but that is mostly because I'm making it shoot at 100m ADS - Not Moving as one of the criteria. Even then, between 50-100m Not Moving, when you include Useability, it is only 1.37% worse than the MTAR-21. Within 50m then it even beats the A-91.

Have a look, vs. the A-91 Carbine:

Using it with Muzzle Brake and Compensator is a wash in terms of overall performance. Comp is SLIGHTLY more accurate, while MB is SLIGHTLY more easy to use. Their overall scores are basically tied, with MB just ahead. I guess either can be recommended.

But... You can't be counting for the fact that it takes 9 bullets to kill at "long" range... Don't you dare tell me my A-91 is worse than a 9 BTK 650 RPM mediocre PDW.

Also. Just go heavy barrel. The recoil is low enough.

Well, technically...

Comparing a PP2K with HB and an A-91 with comp and stubby (as you suggested in an earlier post), at 50m not moving, the A-91 is only better by 4 damage per hitrate. While at 75m and 100m, surprisingly the PP2K does better than the A-91 (I'm pretty damn surprised as well).

And 10m and 50m moving the PP2K also does more damage per hitrate than the A-91. At 25m the A-91 is only better by about half a bullet's damage as well.

In addition, the PP2K has a much larger mag size and substantially less recoil. And it looks hella awesome. So comparing the A-91 to a PDW is of some worth after all, as the PP2K is better (technically, not practically) than the A-91.

Mind blown.

I... I...

*cries in a corner*

Zer0Cod3x explained it very well. If you look at the raw numbers right here on Symthic Comparison, you can see how that happened:

A-91 vs PP-2000 | BF4 Weapon Comparison | Symthic

A-91's "23%" RPM advantage only afforded it 1 extra round.

Reload times are wash.

Velocities are wash.

V-Recoil are wash (and this is HBar on PP2k vs. A-91 without).

Hipfire and ADS - Moving are better on the PP2k, but it's a PDW and not the surprising part.

The surprising part is that, as equipped (and we see above that PP2k HBar has almost same V-Recoil as A-91 without HBar so why not?), the PDW performs better at 50 - 100m than a bloody Carbine. Why?

H-Recoil Spread, 0.525 vs. 0.45, advantage PP2k.

SIPS, 42% better on the PP2k.

And here is the most important part. ADS - Not Moving Spread, 0.35 vs. 0.2, 43% improvement.

Without HBar then of course the PP2k loses, which is why when I add all the attachments together for an Overall Ranking, it would slot below the A-91. Run HBar on it, though, then... I'm sorry
