Nah, when I think crazy I think part 3 of Berserk. Just, WTF!?

Or, JoJo is a little nuts. But JoJo reminds me of young boys playing with action figures in a sandbox, where each one has a response to the others' attacks no matter how "out there" the solution is.

On the topic, there's a JoJo fighting videogame like Street-Fighter and one of the ways you can gather power is striking a pose without getting hit, lol!

if i think crazy litterally the only thing that comes to mind is fire punch, that thing is mental, on a couple new levels.
if i think ridiculous i guess kuuchu buranko could get a decent shot at it given how the animation is so... weird. but it's still good imho.
and if i think random... honestly, there's so much stuff more random than nichijou, both anime and manga:osomatsu, gintama(at least i feel it's more random), chimoguri ringo, the legend of koizumi...

oh and i guess on the ridiculous part saint onii-san/young men could count too, but personally i just feel like it is a funny and sweet comic, not much ridiculous even if the concept is.

So I'm feeling like anime again. It comes and goes in waves.

I basically never follow current trends and watch older stuff (mostly stuff I can find reviews and commentary to).

Started watching the reboot of Kino's Journey (dubbed). Pretty good as far as it's already aired, but not quite on the old series' level IMO. The first episode of the reboot was great, the new colosseum coudln't hold a candle to the two-parter of the original, and the ship country episode's narrative twist didn't quite do it for me. The currently latest episode 6 - in the coulds, I really liked.

Watched Gosick after that, which finally got a (pretty decent) dub this year. It's okay, but not really that special. Overall story and arcs were quite good (Beelzebub Skull arc was really great even), but the characters and especially their relationship kind of let me down. Suffers from the usual romance trope: both parties know they've fallen for another (within the first few episodes no less), both parties are aware that the other one knows, but they keep pussyfootin around right up until the end. I'm a bit fed up with that.

Watched a bit of Death Parade after that (4 eps in), figured that I should not binge that one. May serve me well as a palate cleanser every now and then, as it's quite interesting and pretty dark.

Did a quick dive through One Punch Man. Did not like it, but as it was just a good dozen episodes I went through it all. The first and last two episodes were good, the rest bored me. Characters were kinda like Tornado: flat as a board. The fights were incredibly predictable and, while well animated, did not manage to "wow" me in any way, save for the last one. That might not have been a problem had they not taken up such a large part of the show. The humour also wasn't quite my cup of tea I guess.

Stumbled on Mysterious Girlfriend X (Nazo no Kanojo X) while browsing. Weird (in a good way if you ask me, hehe), a bit ecchi in a mostly sensual way. Absolutely romance focused, but at least not pussyfootin around so much. Episode 1 be like: "Ok, we're together now, let's see where it goes". I mean sure, they're taking baby steps after that, but at least they've been THAT honest with one another. It's definitely not without its flaws, the male lead is hella boring. Classical viewer self-insert I guess. Could have done a lot better there, now the female lead has to carry the show. Currently at ep. 7. Will probably finish that one tonight...

Any other recommendations for romance anime that actually goes somewhere rather quickly and actually focuses on the development of characters IN a relationship as opposed to GETTING INTO a relationship?

You should also answer this question I had posed in that thread: Would you be willing to pay your surgeon more if he was going to use a chainsaw for the opening incision of surgery? Clearly using a chainsaw isn't truly suited for surgery but that doesn't really matter. If he's "skilled" enough to be able to use the wrong tools of the trade, he should be rewarded for that skill right?

well i've been watching/reading this season only kujira and houseki, the second one benig a manga i'm translating that is also coincidentially my favorite manga for aesthetics and character development, the anime while being cg it's alos i'd say almost on par with the manga, some even prefer it over the manga(ichikawa's drawing style is very minimalistic), kujira overallit's just pretty standard, but both the anime and manga show a pretty cool drawing style, albeit the character design is standard as well(i think the coolest part about kujira it's is creaton, but you can see that only in the manga's extras)

as for a romance anime... i dunno, the only two that come to mind that focus on the after more than the before are "my love story"(or wahtever it was named, the one with the gigantic dude as a protagonist) and tsuredzure children, the first being focused on the protagonist the seond on multiple couples.

My Love Story // Ore Monogatari could be worth the watch, I heard it's quite good. The main character's put me off from watching so far, but tbh that's just me being judgemental and superficial, so wtf is wrong with me. Thanks for making me realize that.

His and Her Circumstances // Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou // Kare Kano is another romance anime I've got on my radar. Sounds a bit like what I might enjoy currently.

Right now I'm exhilarated by Mysterious Girlfriend X, it touched on very sensitive topics in quite a delicate manner. The last episode I watched (8 ) finally gave the main character some depth. Hope it keeps up that level now for the remaining five episodes.

you mean gouda? well... if he wasn't as strong as the Mountain(lets remember he litterally held up an iron beam that fell from the sky on top of his head) i'd see myself easily in him.... though i can see how it might seem odd for various people to go on and cheer for him.
afaik a good chunk of years ago, like, 10-15 years ago there was a series that was the same concept but in reverse, no clue what the name of it was though.


i don't have anything else to add though, i mainly read manga, not watching as much anime since a couple years ago.
