I find it hilarious that the other person is being affected enough by the game to actually get physically angry.

For extra salt use shotguns, or kill with rep tool.

The sodium filled tears are indeed one of the best type. Even better if a) the insult/hate is towards me and b) they did bit of "background checking", in which case I win ze game.

No but really. Couldn't care less about people on server unless they are throwing some good humor around. The salty complaints do make me chuckle at times tho.
Links to users' thread list who have made analytical/statistical/mathematical/cool posts on Symthic:

  • leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
  • Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.
  • Miffyli - Random statistical analysis of BF4 battlereports/players and kill-distances. (list is cluttered with other threads).
Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

Really excellent responses from people whose intellect I have a lot of respect for. Thanks again, everyone.

I definitely think that next time something like this happens I'll have a different attitude about it.

Edit: auto correct.

Like others have said, if people rage at you when you are just playing normally (i.e. not deliberately trolling) it means that you are kicking their asses pretty seriously and you should take it as a compliment.

If people are hackusating you then they are most likely getting so owned that it seems like you are hacking from their end.

Things people said

And reading Youtube comments still gives me Turbo Cancer.

It really is quite frustrating when Helen Keller sets up her LMG in the only doorway in/out of an area.

What kind of question is that? Since when is cheese ever a bad idea?

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

Hate may or may not affect me depending on my mood that day. Generally it doesn't though.

The best thing is when someone starts teabagging you when they kill you or when a salty badmin kicks you with a rage-filled message.

How to ice an A-91

Next, wanna try adding a guy that you KNOW is bad, and just testing to see that? Example: PP-2000 (god I so wanna love this gun, and yet...)

Example: PP-2000 (god I so wanna love this gun, and yet...)

PP-2000 added. Y'know, it's not that bad....

Yes, it comes in last so far, but that is mostly because I'm making it shoot at 100m ADS - Not Moving as one of the criteria. Even then, between 50-100m Not Moving, when you include Useability, it is only 1.37% worse than the MTAR-21. Within 50m then it even beats the A-91.

Have a look, vs. the A-91 Carbine:

Using it with Muzzle Brake and Compensator is a wash in terms of overall performance. Comp is SLIGHTLY more accurate, while MB is SLIGHTLY more easy to use. Their overall scores are basically tied, with MB just ahead. I guess either can be recommended.

But... You can't be counting for the fact that it takes 9 bullets to kill at "long" range... Don't you dare tell me my A-91 is worse than a 9 BTK 650 RPM mediocre PDW.

Also. Just go heavy barrel. The recoil is low enough.

Well, technically...

Comparing a PP2K with HB and an A-91 with comp and stubby (as you suggested in an earlier post), at 50m not moving, the A-91 is only better by 4 damage per hitrate. While at 75m and 100m, surprisingly the PP2K does better than the A-91 (I'm pretty damn surprised as well).

And 10m and 50m moving the PP2K also does more damage per hitrate than the A-91. At 25m the A-91 is only better by about half a bullet's damage as well.

In addition, the PP2K has a much larger mag size and substantially less recoil. And it looks hella awesome. So comparing the A-91 to a PDW is of some worth after all, as the PP2K is better (technically, not practically) than the A-91.

Mind blown.

I... I...

*cries in a corner*

Zer0Cod3x explained it very well. If you look at the raw numbers right here on Symthic Comparison, you can see how that happened:

A-91 vs PP-2000 | BF4 Weapon Comparison | Symthic

A-91's "23%" RPM advantage only afforded it 1 extra round.

Reload times are wash.

Velocities are wash.

V-Recoil are wash (and this is HBar on PP2k vs. A-91 without).

Hipfire and ADS - Moving are better on the PP2k, but it's a PDW and not the surprising part.

The surprising part is that, as equipped (and we see above that PP2k HBar has almost same V-Recoil as A-91 without HBar so why not?), the PDW performs better at 50 - 100m than a bloody Carbine. Why?

H-Recoil Spread, 0.525 vs. 0.45, advantage PP2k.

SIPS, 42% better on the PP2k.

And here is the most important part. ADS - Not Moving Spread, 0.35 vs. 0.2, 43% improvement.

Without HBar then of course the PP2k loses, which is why when I add all the attachments together for an Overall Ranking, it would slot below the A-91. Run HBar on it, though, then... I'm sorry

I either ignore them, destroy their arguments with facts and logic or troll the shit out of them until they start crying, depending on my mood...

As I use to say, If you're not having fun playing, what's the fucking point? If things don't go your way, just take a break instead of raging at other players. You can shove that rage right up your arse.

I play exactly as you play, when people start to insult me it means that being an average player, I still outsmarted them, and it makes me smile a lot ^^ it even encourage me to do it even better ^^
And when someone killed me because he was better, I say "well done". He can't hear it but to me it means that whatever just happened, it's just past, and I need to get a bit better ^^

+1, I think we're all in agreement that more MrT3as would be an awesome thing

Deriving enjoyment from other's displeasure is for fuckin assholes. All this mmm salt shit is fucked. Seriously. Likewise, someone being an ass to you unfairly is an asshole move, so yeh.... I can see how some people can't find a compassionate means to deal with it, and instead lean on the salt meme.

Similarly, if you're making people mad, that doesn't mean you're playing the game right. If a guy is kicking my ass legitimately he'll get a "GG you're beast" message from me because I can take losing because I'm not a pussy.

Now, I dish out a fair amount of hate on BF4, because, well, biting my tongue is not my style (see above). I'll certainly dish out messages (and I start out politely, of course) to campers in our deloyment in our MAA because

a) it's unfair, it's exploiting game mechanics and any good sport knows that just because it's in the game doesn't mean it's fair to use (see: Underarm bowling incident, Jonah Lomu's finger-up-the-butthole rugby tackle)

b) it's detrimental to our team because I could take that thing and actually help the team PTFO with it instead of taking a measly few kills against bad pilots, and no deaths because he's more concerned with his KD than his team.

Most often, I find that, rather than accepting that they're being a bd sport and a detriment to their teammates, they pussy out and rage at me for calling it like it is, aka they shoot the messenger.

Maybe rather than wondering about hatemail as a generalisation, you should consider each conversation to be an individual conversaton. They may be right to send you hatemail. They may be well out of line. If they're a reasonable person, and so are you, you can talk it out. If they're unreasonable and you're not, you're gonna have to ignore them and conlude they are being unreasonable. And maybe, just maybe, they're being reasonable and you're not, in which case you're gonna have to nut up and say sorry. It won't hurt.... unless you have a weak ego.

Does "start to cackle like a madman" count as emotional effect? I suppose it does. If I make someone mad by not playing according to their self made rules, I'll even throw in an actual laugh. I do tend to receive more lovemail than hatemail though.

Someone taking the time to try and insult you and make you feel bad for playing a video game in a way that is inside the rules, is laughably pathetic.

Think about this in real life terms, you go to the shop and pick up the last packet of Doritos™, you were legitimately there first and thus common sense indicates you should take them. Now, some arsepiece comes up to you and starts verbally abusing you because they can't get their Doritos™ fix. Do you have to be compassionate in your response? Unless they have legitimate mental impairments, that would just feed their disillusioned world view in which everything revolves around their happiness.
If a guy is kicking my ass legitimately he'll get a "GG you're beast" message from me because I can take losing because I'm not a pussy.
This is completely different, if someone makes a really good shot or carries their team I'll often compliment it in chat too.

The servers I play on usually have rules about misuse of vehicles and deployment camping, but I know how annoying it is to have the one MAA being used ineffectively, but I never rage at them or insult them, and at the same time players have a right to learn the game.

90% of the hatemail I get (not that I get it THAT often) is because I'm using the Hawk 12G or killing infantry with the SMAW. Most hatemail in BF4 is entirely unreasonable and based on stereotypical views e.g. shotgun/explosives = unfair noob crutches when AR's are usually the best all round weapons.
