Game Research, Theory and Science rules / guidelines

In addition to regular Symthic rules there are few other notes for this section.

Good behaviour is strictly enforced
Any and all disrespectful replies will be deleted and user warned. This also includes overuse of logical fallacies (eg. here's a good list of common ones).

Every thread should relate to science/research/theory
Every thread should mainly focus on some scientific aspect (eg. no topics about "what is the best game" etc). A game related science/research is what we look for but other types of research and science are allowed.
Polls, subjective questions and subjective answers are allowed if they contribute to the discussion.

Every post should contribute something solid to the topic + Enforced on-topicness
If a good question rises among replies, make a new thread about it. This way each thread only contains discussion about the presented topic.

Cite sources
If you share something that's not created by yourself, cite the source and link it if possible.
If you claim something (eg. "this is x", "x is not good") cite the source of this claim/information. Feel free to notify others if they didn't cite a claim or have a solid background for it.

Links to users' thread list who have made analytical/statistical/mathematical/cool posts on Symthic:
  • 3VerstsNorth - Analysis of game mechanics in BF4 (tickrates, effects of tickrate, etc)
  • InterimAegis - Weapon comparisons/scoring.
  • leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
  • Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.

Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included
