Conflicting Info About Recoil and Spread Decrease

I am confused, yet again, about this bewildering topic, however this time it pertains to the site data.

When decreasing the recoil and firing again it will reset the decrease timer. Note that recoil decrease used to be a cubic function in bf3 (and I suspect it remained the same in bf4), i.e. phi(t) = a t^3 + b t^2 + c t with phi denoting the angle that the gun has recovered and t being the time. When expressed in radians and assuming t is given in seconds, I figured out that a ~= 0.1 (although there is the possibility that I missed another factor 10 when I ran my tests over a year ago), though the other two coefficients are not as simple to retrieve. Anyway, once you fire another round, t starts at 0 again, so no matter the current amount of accumulated recoil, it will always behave the same right after firing a round (until the recoil is gone).


Quite honestly, I have no idea what sir Frank is talking about here and, frankly (ba-dum-tis), I don't think I want to know. But that isn't the problem.

Generally speaking, the recoil decrease can be from 6-30/s
It has been stated numerous times and by numerous users on this forum: the recoil decrease value is not in "degrees/second", it is a scalar value pertaining to an unknown cubic function.

Here are some good places to read up on it. In fact, you have been told this before .


Now I trust C0llis, from reading his forum posts I have gathered that he is a widely intelligent individual who knows what he is talking about so, naturally, I believed him. But then I got to thinking, "what made me believe that information in the first place?" (my post about recoil/ spread decrease being measured in degrees/ second). So I went back to the Weapon Charts, where I based my claim off of and what I found were these (refer to screenshots). As we know, bubbles pop up when you hover over the icons/ values and give a brief description of what that value represents, and as you can see the description for both recoil and spread decrease tell us that they are measured in degrees/ second.

As of now, I do not know what to believe. Is the site data wrong or have I been fed misinformation (no offense C0llis)?

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

Spread decrease has always been assumed to be linear but IDK whether there's any evidence for it. It'd be cool if some who has contacts with DICE could actually tell us.

Edit: the recoil is known to be non-linear already because it looks like it. Conversely, the spread decrease, as somehow indexed by hip crosshairs, visually appears linear.

Ah yes derp. I recall a time when I was supposed to add this on to-do list but stuff happened and lead me to me forgot whole thing >.<...
