Shotgun Spread

Does anyone know if aiming down sight effects shotgun spread vs hip fire?
What about kneeling / prone?

Yes - the distribution exponent for zoomed fire is 1.0 and the exponent for unzoomed fire is 0.5. How exactly that gets applied, I am not fully sure. Maybe @Miffyli knows. I think some work has been done on this before:

Dispersion appears to be the same, but I am sure other things aren't. You can check out the GunSway items in the data browser in my signature.

Are we certain that ADS tightens buckshot spread? I tried it in-game against a wall, firing both from the hip and from ADS and the pellets seemed to have the same dispersion.

As far I have understood it, the exponents leptis was talking about are for the regular dispersion (aka "spread") all weapons have. However the pellet dispersion unique to shotguns was previously focused in the middle of the circle (exponent of 1.0) to reward more accurate aiming. "VerDispersion" and "HorDispersion" on current BFV pages tell you the maximum deviation of a pellet from center of aimpoint, which is e.g. 3 degrees for M30 Drilling.

Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

I always considered that the shotguns have a double spread system (which I always found a bit awkward) where spread would determine the angle the round leaves the barrel at, and pellet spread determined the dispersion of said pellets, which created a few instances when firing on the move where many pellets missed or hit although you were not fully on target. Moving spread was always a bit counterintuitive for shotguns.
