Do we have any practical/simple values for the alternate ammo types, like how much better the anti-armour shells are against tanks compared to normal ones?

Also - I completely missed that some upgrades modify your main gun and others add an extra ammo type. Do we know which behave which way?

Yes, you should be able to tell too based off the names of the weapons and the description in the upgrade tree.

HE is your main gun default shell

AP
APC
APCR
AT
HESH

are all extra ammo types

STAGHOUND_37mmM5_HE_SHELL_LittleJohnAdapter_Mk2 is actually the AP shell (extra ammo type) for the upgunned 37mm Staghound

The barrel changes should be obvious by the names.

Hope that helps.

Sort of yes. You can add impact and blast damage to compare to get a rough idea. Basically the slower moving shells do the most damage as they are the hardest to hit with. The standard shells do the worst damage and then the APCR types with their fast velocity do a tiny bit more damage than the standard HE shell but their fast velocity makes them more accurate and from longer distances. And since they have high impact damage they really see their damage go up when you get good side and rear hits as impact damage is effected by angle multipliers while blast damage is not.
