BFV FTK Preview

Updated Hitrater to be even more accurate and took it out for a test drive. No more spreadsheets calculating stuff like for BF1 Effective TTK/FTK charts. Now outputs look more like this.

Fantastic - so what is the new spread formula for BFV?

If you want to tease us some more, what about ADS moving at say 20 m? Curious if that will live up to our experiences in the Beta re: StG.

Also, SMGs apparently zoom in faster than ARs can. If the past is anything to go by, we are probably looking at something like 133ms for SMGs and 200ms for ARs.

This means the StG is around 36 frames ADSing, the EMP is around 33 frames, and the MP40 around 34 frames when we add zoom in time as an offset.

Finalized (I think) chart for the StG 44. Average Lethal FTK is displayed along the top of the chart as a number. The Y-axis is split into every 10k.

As before, assuming ADS standing 15 round burst to center mass in a 60Hz environment. With this, I think I'll start generating charts for the beta weapons.

Sorry for suggesting this so late, but wouldn't it be more clear to have the non-lethal part of each bar below the other parts instead of above, as they essentially represent "infinite" FTK? That way, each FTK breakpoint will only tend to move upwards as the range increases.

If you want the non-lethal part on top, an alternative would be to flip every bar upside down.


Unrelatedly, how come there are ~1000 cases of 24 FTK at 150 m, but negligibly few at 50 to 90 m?

I was considering how to represent a non-lethal run for a while and ultimately settled on simply representing it as empty space.

I think the height of the bar combined with average lethal FTK should be a good enough indicator of lethality and reliability.

As for the 24 FTK, it can only be because of lucky headshots. The target is far enough away that the head is more likely to appear in the spread cone and it only takes one headshot to drag your BTK down to 5.
