Hardline Visual Recoil

From the recently released videos of the recording event some time ago it seems that there still was/is the old visual recoil mechanic in Hardline. Does anyone know if that's intended to be a thing in the final release or if the "fix" is just "NYI"?

Of course, this ignores the non-constant cross-sectional first moment of area across the chest as well as non-constant material properties of the boob; it would be difficult to perform a more detailed analysis (as in, I'd have to have a shape function AND I'd need to derive a function for elastic modulus as a function of lateral breast coordinate) but whatever. It's 2am and I'm lazy.

You should also answer this question I had posed in that thread: Would you be willing to pay your surgeon more if he was going to use a chainsaw for the opening incision of surgery? Clearly using a chainsaw isn't truly suited for surgery but that doesn't really matter. If he's "skilled" enough to be able to use the wrong tools of the trade, he should be rewarded for that skill right?

Apparently, it will be removed according to tweets by Youtubers and we know that they're perfectly credible sources!

With this, I'll rid MGO3 of infestation. Sans bad gameplay MGO3 will be torn asunder. And then it shall be free. People will suffer, of course - a phantom pain.

Reddit and Konami will rewrite the records... And I will be demonized in human memory. But... The thirst for good gameplay that I have planted will infest MGO3. No one can stop it now. The Rebalance Mod will unleash that thirst unto the future.

According to the tweets of the same YouTuber the visual recoil wasn't there. What we see in the video IS REAL RECOIL, it's just that big! (and works completely different than any recoil in any BF game ever...) Because, apparently that's what the devs told him.

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about, at all.

I'd imagine we had visual recoil in Alpha as it seemed to be rather quick copy of BF4. (literally. My *cough*skills*cough* worked all perfectly on it with very minor tweaking).
However I figure they have improved/changed the core a bit too and/or implement changes they do in BF4 nowadays, so it wouldn't be a surprise if visual recoil would be removed.
Links to users' thread list who have made analytical/statistical/mathematical/cool posts on Symthic:

  • leptis - Analysis of shotguns, recoil, recoil control and air drag.
  • Veritable - Scoring of BF4/BF1 firearms in terms of usability, firing and other mechanics.
  • Miffyli - Random statistical analysis of BF4 battlereports/players and kill-distances. (list is cluttered with other threads).
Sorry if your name wasn't on the list, I honestly can't recall all names : ( . Nudge me if you want to be included

Thanks for the tweet. I wasn't going by anything any youtuber said, but what I saw in JackFrags' uncommented gameplay footage. Not that he's any better as a source than others, but it was uncommented so it doesn't really matter.
It looked like the same vis-recoil mechanics that were at work in BF4, most clearly seen with the DMRs that were used. That gameplay is, as we are told, about a month old, so they might have already fixed it.

Yeah, during the public phase I'm pretty sure we had vis recoil. I mean, that was before the cte-patch hit live after all.

Anyhow, do we have any available gameplay videos to confirm/bust this Visual recoil nonsense?
Like, literally, EVERYONE hated visual recoil. How can they possibly re-implement it after this many complaints.

They said that the footage was recorded a month ago which means there's no telling if it's still in anyway. Some youtuber said that it was fixed the second day but kind of contradicts himself saying that "what we see is actual recoil" - which could mean "what we will see in the game" or "what we see in the videos".

As far as evidence for the existence of visual recoil during the session where the youtubers were goes, this video (lol, forgot to link it - see two posts below) features plenty of it. The first clip features the socom16's DMR typical "top left and bottom right" visual recoil, the ARM is seen doing a magdump around the 3:46 mark which appears to have a lot of unrelated wobble.
