Will the desert eagle still be usuable now or will it be out classed by the unica and sw40 as the best hard hitting pistol?

@ONI

I found it on Reddit and thought it was beautiful. That said, it doesn't translate that well into a small avatar but pulling the full picture up still makes me giggle.

@lammeatt

The deagle will still be useful. It will just not be the pistol to end all pistols that it previously was. You now have reasons to pick another sidearms, but the deagle still has high damage per mag, revolver performance up close and a good reload.

It really is quite frustrating when Helen Keller sets up her LMG in the only doorway in/out of an area.

What kind of question is that? Since when is cheese ever a bad idea?

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

Also quite importantly, the Deagle will still be the only heavy hitting pistol that can fit a suppressor.

I'm suprised they never considered nerfing the Deagle's hipfire. That could have been a way to better differentiate it from the revolvers, and the weaker "spammier" pistols in general. The G18 and 93R too have worse hipfire for balancing purposes, and in the Deagle's case I think it would also make sense realistically since it's such a large and heavy pistol.

Because that would be nerfing exactly what it's supposed to be good at, which is close range / spamming. Instead they nerfed its long range stats like min damage, recoil, velocity and such, which keeps it amazing where it's supposed to be and not great where it shouldn't be, which is exactly how balance works.

I disagree, considering the gun's calibre and fire rate I'd say giving it lower hip spread would still make it viable without leaving it as horribly overpowered as it is now. And yes, I did just use the word overpowered to describe it. Because it fucking is!

Just making sure you know it's a .44 Magnum Desert Eagle and not a .50 cal.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

I'm not against a small hipfire nerf, but I (perhaps wrongly) assumed Frosty meant nerfing that instead of what they did, not along with it. I do think all three .357s should be overall better than the Desert Eagle up close.

considering the gun's calibre

Just making sure you know it's a .44 Magnum Desert Eagle and not a .50 cal.

.50 AE has very similar ballistics to .44 Magnum, though is actually a bit worse at range. It's a bit ironic that the new damage model for the DE would have been a perfect excuse to make it a .50, since that would also give it one less round in the magazine. They can't really change the name/capacity now though, since they modeled it with the fluting on the barrel that only the .44 and .357 DEs have.

The .44 is still a pretty big round.

And according to this site (look under "specifications") the .44 version is actually 0.8 ounces heavier than the .50 version.
