LMGs do much more than suppression so they don't require a buff, all that'll do is give the arseholes in the CTE more things to get DICE to hammer into the dirt…

I physically lost my temper at this whole mess last night, DICE will happily remove one of the most tactically valuable and unique mechanics in the game because the majority of the people in this worthless CTE are fucking vitriolic cunts who just want to hammer every single unique perk and feature in BF4 down until nothing remains…And they'll get away with it too because these very fucktards are in the majority!

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

CTE is the best thing that has happened to this game. Suppression in its current form is one of the worst. It rewards LMG users with bad aim; the fact that suppression will make you win vast majority of long range firefights with an LMG vs AR even if the AR user has better aim is just silly (I have plenty experience with this from both sides; winning such a firefight with an LMG is so ridiculously easy it doesn't even feel gratifying). I don't see how you can dispute the fact that suppression benefits lesser skilled players. It's just an annoying mechanic that introduces noise into the game, much like the screen shake that has thankfully been patched.

Not really... LMGs currently have no advantage over an AR with an equivalent ROF in a 1v1 engagement at any range, aside from suppression at range (which LMGs are intended to be very good at). The AR will have better hipfire in CQC, lower deviation at longer ranges, and lower recoil overall. The LMG has a low first shot multiplyer, meaning it's better at tap firing, and its 100-200 round magazine (usually irrelevant when fighting one enemy). With equal players, the AR would always win, if the first shot multiplier was effectively countered at mid-long ranges.

For an example, without suppression, you could have a good fight between an SCAR-H and an M240B at 80m. The M240 should easily win an AR vs LMG fight at that range, either by suppressing the enemy for teammates to close or flank, or by out damaging the enemy and killing him. However, the SCAR has lower recoil once you get past the FSM, lower deviation, and the SCAR player has semi auto if he needs it. The damage models are equivalent, so the only advantage of the LMG is tapfiring accuracy.

Suppression makes that fight fall, rightly, into the M240's favor, as the SCAR would become suppressed more quickly than the LMG (volume of fire) and would not return accurate fire so he would/should drop back into cover. Without suppression, LMGs need some type of buff to remain competitive at medium to long ranges, where their ideal range should be. Maybe they need a higher damage model (5.56:22min-25max, 7.62: 28min-34max), maybe bipods should be LMG exclusive (for auto weapons, snipers and DMRs should still have them), or just maybe, they need something more radical: the recoil of LMGs could lower in intensity when firing a long burst, making up for their relative inaccuracy with volume of fire.

I don't know, but without suppression LMGs will be forgotten weapons.
