Best Sniper Gadgets

I haven't played recon in a long time, and I usually use a DMR with C4 and poke balls when I do, but I'm interested in learning the art of long range sniping. The trick is picking the gadgets.

Some obvious candidates are the Motion Sensor, Mav, Beacon PLD, SOFLAM, maybe even the Claymore (so pretty much everything but the poke balls and C4).

Suggestion for the best combo? Please keep in mind that sometimes I'll have a friend acting as a spotter with the PLD, so I may not need one myself. Obviously, I'm planing to be mainly stationary and protect capped objectives by picking off any enemy infantry. The main game mode would be Conq

Best SNIPER gadgets?

Spawn Beacon to get back in to your nest quickly.

Claymore to defend your nest.

Campfire to roast your marshmallows.

Did I mention marshmallows?

TUGS and spawn beacon- TUGS for finding sneaky enemies and general awareness of surroundings for my teammates and beacon for making sure we don't get pushed out of an objective.
I also recommend the SUAV for roof campers and pesky snipers that don't move, as getting constantly roadkilled by one seems to always send a message.

The most efficient Recon is one who does not remain stationary. If you stay in one location too long, someone will discover your position. The most optimal gadgets to support a mobile Recon are the Spawn Beacon and MAV. The Spawn Beacon allows you and your Squad to relocate after dying to a more secure location than that of a Flag or other Squadmate, and the MAV enables overwatch and is the best spotting tool available.

Keep your distance from Objectives though because your weapons are not suited towards close combat. Rather have your buddies capture/ arm Objectives while you provide support from a secure area on the perimeter. Place a Spawn Beacon in case they get wiped and use the MAV to spot enemy threats or hover above to detect any movement. Any opponents will ping on the Mini-Map if they are within the MAV's Motion Sensor radius.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

True - its always good to play the objective, but since I'm making this load out solely devoted to long range sniping, I'll be playing more of a supporting role - spotting as much as I can for teammates and watching their backs from long range. You've definitely made me interested in the mav tho - so I'm gonna try that out. And I can, just leave it in the air behind me and use it like a TUGS, right - it won't despawn?

Slightly off topic, but I'm debating about whether to use a PLD or poke balls with my Marksman Loadout - obviously the primary weapon would be a DMR (unsuppressed) and the other gadget would be C4. This again is a Conquest Recon Loadout

Once you exit the MAV the motion sensing ability turns off. You must be operating it to take advantage of that feature, so be sure to conceal your soldier. I do not know if the MAV continues to hover after you exit it, but I do know it will never despawn. (Well, unless you replenish another from an Ammo Box)

Marksman Loadout - obviously the primary weapon would be a DMR (unsuppressed) and the other gadget would be C4. This again is a Conquest Recon Loadout

Again, as a Marksman your goal is to put distance between you and your foe. A DMR can kill in close quarters, but they are still very much outmatched by Assault Rifles, PDWs, Shotguns, LMGs, even pistols. Adopt a ranged playstyle and leave the heavy lifting to your pals. Spotting is the greatest benefit you can supply as a Recon. Reconnaissance is the most overpowered facet of Battlefield as it enables your team to know where enemies are located. Knowing where the bad guys are is half the battle.

I found the PLD to be very versatile on whatever BASR recon setup I have, and when I've switched it out, most of the time I wished I hadn't. I also use C4 for the same versatility of engaging either vehicle or infantry targets.

TUGS has it's merits, but if you're 200+m away it becomes meaningless
PokeBalls are only useful for when you've weakened your target pokemon, and are close enough to catch them.
MAV means you're dedicating yourself to just reconnaissance.
Claymore is a lazy-man's weak C4
SOFLAM is useful as a stationary PLD, but I prefer the PLD for it's mobility.
Spawn Beacon is always useful for deciding where you spawn
SUAV is just for a cheap kill.

The MAV for pure hilarity, spawn beacon and pokeballs if actually trying.
