Does the flash hider only reduce the flash of the gun or does it have some drawbacks too?

Was just wondering if the description of the BF4 flash hider stays true to its word "Eliminates the flash generated by firing the weapon without the bullet speed penalty of a full fledged silencer."

Thanks :)

In Battlefield 4, the Flash Hider is plainly better than having a standard barrel. It has no drawbacks, and the only benefit is the reduction/elimination of flash. Good to use if you cannot control the Heavy Barrel.

Will it protect against STD's?

I'm a fan of the show, but not a "Brony". I don't obsess over it, but I do watch it and enjoy it.

When I unlocked the Flash hider on the PKP. I think the weapon got just a little bit worse with precision and handling. Barely noticeable

I dont know if its just a impressor or a real thing

Five bucks you were using muzzle break/compensator before that.

Yeah the only real trade off of the flash hider is the inability to equip a different barrel attachment. It's also a battle pack only attachment

Some guns are best run with no barrel attachment. When i'm presented with that situation I always run a regular suppressor, but some people don't like the reduced velocity or increased hip spread, so they leave it blank, in that case the Flash Hider is the best option, as it hides your location at a glance, while offering the full performance of the gun without a barrel attachment. So it's really not a disadvantage at all, it's the advantage of not having a muzzle flash if you don't want to (or the weapon performs better without) a barrel attachment in place.
