Not really related to OP, but you don't really need too much knowledge of spotting mechanics to know that the player you linked is highly suspicious

Not very many people stay locked in ADS and suddenly shift 30 degrees outside their FOV and perfectly track someone, nor do they continuously track and stare at corners of buildings where they suspect someone is

The thing about cheating is that 98% of people who do it are genuinely bad players (unsurprisingly), which makes it all the more easy to spot them out when you're spectating them

Actually, some people have not learned anything about the game after playing multiple entries in the same series for multiple hours. You're actually doing much better than most players out there.

True, haha. This is the only BF game I've ever played so specifics weren't really on my mind while being "gud" for the last few hundred hours. Typically, I'm just like, "Shoot the flare and get in there, mmmkay?"

two question. Is the flare only show the circle on mini map when it land on the surface?
when the flare is still in middle air, will it spot everyone who is in the radius?

The flare circle only shows up on the minimap when it lands. It will show red markers for enemies on the minimap as it flies through the air and passes them, but those markers will disappear if they go outside of the invisible circle as the flare flies to its destination and lands, whereby the circle appears on the minimap instantly.

True true. It was just an example within my recording archives to show what else I'm doing with this knowledge. I've played FPSes for years and have a keen sense when someone is cheating. So far in BF1, my accuracy rating between suspicions and confirmations is like 90%.

Of course, EA doesn't watch any of my videos in a few reports and DICE seems to not be doing anything substantial about the problem, which I know is way more prevalent than a lot of people seem to refuse to believe (without evidence, unlike me). Every session I play, I almost always end up suspecting someone, spectating them, confirming my suspicions, and then recording a video for my own reference of what kind of cheats are out there and how they function.

As for the video, I wouldn't even call it suspicious. That's 100% a cheater. He walked around like a baby seal for most of the game, locking on to enemies when clearly using a mouse (always confirmed by fast and precise movements and not smooth rotations when using joysticks) and just kept locking on to things outside of his view (aircraft no less as well as unspotted infantry at distance) and would constantly move towards unspotted enemies, clearly having some sort of ESP enabled.

The fucker is still playing, of course.

Regardless, I somewhat enjoy watching and confirming cheaters, kind of like confirming specific mechanics.

Here's another cheater I just found an hour ago and uploaded (though, this might derail the thread so I won't post anymore):

Passive Spotting is the future!

With this, I'll rid MGO3 of infestation. Sans bad gameplay MGO3 will be torn asunder. And then it shall be free. People will suffer, of course - a phantom pain.

Reddit and Konami will rewrite the records... And I will be demonized in human memory. But... The thirst for good gameplay that I have planted will infest MGO3. No one can stop it now. The Rebalance Mod will unleash that thirst unto the future.

I believe they do a whole more, I recall being front gunner on Grappa and was spotting in the general direction of B and spotted everything at once. From the bunker, to the way to D and on the flanks to C/E either. Rather crazy. I tprobably has to do with the elevation, but I have not seen something similar in a tank.

However it does seem that it is easier to spot with a scope as well, but that could be part of the higher magnification and therefore more accuracy in spotting.

This does strike me as odd, because I rarely need the spot in a vehicle, but I desperately need the spotting, when I play as infantry.

An FoV of 5.0° for the Bomber is pretty wide especially when in the air from a distance and the spot range of 1200m is far as hell because it encompasses most of the playable airspace. So no, it isn't inconceivable that one can spot all the things from a plane way up in the air.

The infantry spot FoV is 0.4°; that is the same as the cone of fire for ADS'd buckshot while moving or hipfired while standing still or it's just slightly more than the Automatico Trench's stationary hip spread, so it makes sense for a precision rifle that has a scope to be better at spotting with the angle parameter.

BF4's infantry spot FoV was an absurd 3.0°, so one didn't have to be aiming even close to a target to spot them. Just mash the spot button mindlessly and doritos will pop up eventually. You have to be accurate when spotting now, which is a good thing.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

The distance also accounted for spotting tons of people at once. at 1000m thats probably like a what? a 17m radius spotting circle?
