Asymmetrical weapons and DLC content

I was thinking about bf hardline and the asymmetrical weapon selection, and I got thinking how would they add a DLC weapon in with this system in place?
For example a new shotgun was added but which side is it given to? Or is it simply added for both factions to use?

Also I was curious what you guys (or gals?) on symthic would think would be a good way implement a DLC weapon in hardline.

I think making them faction specific would be a good way to go. But only if they got rid of the stupid-ass assignment system. and made the 'putting work into your guns' thing just getting the license. License could cost more on DLC weapons to compensate.

Making them faction specific would be a problem with the M45 as it was used by both robbers and police:
During the Norrmalmstorg Robbery (Famous for 'Stockholm Syndrome') the robbers were armed with regular M45's and Police were also armed with them, but ah; the police used different variants!
The robbers only had the K-pist M/45A, the Police had The K-pist m/45BE (E = Enkelskott/Single Fire, it could be set to single fire) and K-pist m/45BET ( T = Tårgas/Tear Gas ), the BE was just a modified 45B with semi-auto capabilities, the BET is quite interesting, it would fire Tear Gas canisters.

It would only make sense if added weapons were faction specific. It stands to reason. The police forces get their designated equipment, which can vary, as well. Robbers get what they can afford and what is available on the market. The variety of weapon systems will be quite narrow naturally.

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

well, they cost for films etc from a lot of time, obviously it's like that for games as well, problem is: for games the cost it's MUCH higher, afaik from an interview i read time ago.

that's also the reason you see "acWr, pdWr, m5k" and so on.

if you're talking of the license i'm thinking about.

m/45B: 250 USD (1.880 SEK)
m/45C: 240 USD (1.800 SEK)
m/45BE: 500 USD (3.770 SEK)
m/45BET: 475 USD (3.580 SEK)
Ammo for the BET: 50 USD (370 SEK) per box of 100 rounds.

No, in Hardline, one of the weapon customization slots (like sight, barrel, and underbarrel) is "License". I have no idea what it's for tho.

^ Probably just to show that you can now use that gun on both factions.
Back on DLC gear I think it's best if they just play it by ear. As in some weapons for cops and some for robbers and of course some with no faction restrictions.
