Can it? I do not know. 30m is an awful lot though for a shotgun. I am just extrapolating from my experience with semi-autos before and after the patch, by looking at my accuracy, KPM and gameplay experiences I had with them. I am not complaining either, the chance of going up against a semi-auto shotgun on 32 player servers, even with a more urban map rotation is rather low, due to many reasons. I am just saying that they went to far by treating both types of shotguns rather similarily.

So semi autos should just be inconsistent garbage?

Teamwork is where players function by themselves, but their effectiveness is multiplied when they work together. Not a checklist of "did we bring a healer so we can start playing?"

Something would be wrong if the KPM with a shotgun were lower than the KPM with, say, an SAR-21, simply due to the kind of engagement and area you seek out with each gun. Shotguns are cqc only, so you'll seek out cqc, which generally means that you'll find more targets per minute because you stay in populated areas. Accuracy with shotguns is weird anyway since hitting one pellet still counts as a hit and hitting two targets with at least one pellet counts as two hits in one shot.

Memorable quotes not taken yet:

Of course, this ignores the non-constant cross-sectional first moment of area across the chest as well as non-constant material properties of the boob; it would be difficult to perform a more detailed analysis (as in, I'd have to have a shape function AND I'd need to derive a function for elastic modulus as a function of lateral breast coordinate) but whatever. It's 2am and I'm lazy.

I always believed science should be very hands on experience.

You should also answer this question I had posed in that thread: Would you be willing to pay your surgeon more if he was going to use a chainsaw for the opening incision of surgery? Clearly using a chainsaw isn't truly suited for surgery but that doesn't really matter. If he's "skilled" enough to be able to use the wrong tools of the trade, he should be rewarded for that skill right?

It is disheartening that people are whining about shotguns now. They needed love. They are not OP now, including the semi-autos.

It doesn't really bother me. The whining is mostly from people who were already losing, people who I'm quite happy to kill with any weapon they'd like xD
So what if the shotguns are powerful at their expected range (short to point-blank), they suck at longer ranges so its fine!

Laser, Holo, Buckshot and no choke for the time being as I haven't had a chance to properly try them all out yet :)

People have and always will whine about shotguns just because they aren't ARs and stomp ARs users when they are outmanouvered.

And reading Youtube comments still gives me Turbo Cancer.

It really is quite frustrating when Helen Keller sets up her LMG in the only doorway in/out of an area.

What kind of question is that? Since when is cheese ever a bad idea?

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

I still like full choke, but I don't hip fire as much as I should.

Yes laser "helps" with the non-slugs by doing the same it does for every other weapon: HIP spread is smaller, which for multi-pellet shotgun means the middle point of pellet spread is inside smaller area.

870 with IRNV and laser. Always done that, even with "bad IRNVs" and so worth. Didn't like chockes at all when I gave them a try for few games.

Especially since the smoke improvements I've found IRNV to be awesome on shotguns actually since I usually hipfire and it is great to be able to see through smoke when others around you cant!
