Confused about basic weapon terms and how they affect a weapon

I'm confused about many of the basic weapon terms and it's driving me nuts :)

For example looking at the comparison between AEK-971 and ACW-R:
AEK-971 vs ACW-R | BF4 Weapon Comparison | Symthic

What exactly is:

- ADS base spread

- HIP base spread

- spread increase pr. shot

- FSR & FSR multiplier

- the reason for burst firing

- the reason for tap firing

???

I've experimented many times by logging on to an empty server playing Operation Locker and then shooting at the various walls with different weapons.

Operation Locker has a lot of writing on the walls which gives many aiming opportunities :)


I know that muzzle climb is determined by a weapon's values for Recoil Up, and muzzle drift by the values for Recoil Left and Recoil Right.

Thus the higher value a weapon has for Recoil Up, the more upwards the bullets will land when you hold down the trigger and shoot at something.

Similarly for Recoil Left and Right, just sideways instead of upwards.


I know that Muzzle Brake reduces muzzle climb and Compensator reduces muzzle drift.


I can see that, generally, the bullets land pretty much everywhere when firing at a wall with Hip Fire, whereas with ADS the bullets are concentrated in a tighter area.


That's pretty much all I know but I'd really like to understand the mechanics behind weapons better.

1. This is the starting aimed down sight spread for any weapon.
Ex. Assault rifles, generally have 0.2 ADS spread. This means the first bullet will hit within 0.2 of your aimpoint...I think.

2. HIP refers to hip-fire. HIP base spread is the initial spread of your gun standing still in the hip-fire stance.

3. Spread increase per shot is applied to the starting spread after the first bullet. So your second shot with an assault rifle with 0.2 spread will have the specific value of spread inc. added to it.
Ex. 0.2 + 0.099 = 0.299 after the first shot and an additional 0.099 added to the third, so on and so forth.

4. First shot multiplier is multiplied to the vertical recoil value of your gun on the first shot.
Ex. An assault rifle with 0.3 units of vertical recoil has a FSM of 2x which leaves us with 0.6 units of vertical recoil on the first shot.

5/6. Burst fire and tap-firing have similar uses: to reset the recoil and spread increase (and visual recoil to an extent, don't ask). Each weapon has a recoil decrease value and a spread decrease value, these are labeled on the stats page. Generally speaking, the recoil decrease can be from 6-30/s (depending on the firearm) and spread decrease from 7-15/s (also depends). This tactic improves accuracy, precision, and helps to conserve ammunition.

That's what I got. We'll see what I've learned from the Symthic veterans. :)

Basically, take this info with a miniscule grain of salt until it is confirmed as correct. :P

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

This was discussed before, but I think the verdict was no. Eh, I could be wrong. Aim values as in Vertical and Horizontal recoil numbers? Yeah, me neither. That's why I used units haha. 8)

Anyway, good to see I know what is what when it comes to explaining the stat fundamentals. :)

That looks correct id like to add that for weapons that are in burst fire mode the first shot recoil multiplier counts for the last shot of the burst.

I wasn't sure if Scout was referring to the bursting technique or the burst fire weaponry. But yeah, good addition.

The question I think he is asking, and one I myself have been wondering:

What are the measurements of spread and recoil of?

Ex. The SAR has .18 vertical recoil, but what is .18? What is 1?

Same with spread. Avg. AR has .2 standing ADS, but what is .2?
I buffed DMR velocity.
QBU is only weapon in my heart. That and the M1911.

PS: I am the pinnacle of maturity.

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho
