The 34-25 Damage Model

This has got to be the most ingenious weapon-based decision that DICE has input into BF4.

The high damage Assault Rifles, Carbine(s) and Light Machine Guns certainly attained a benefit in Close Quarter Combat in BF3, but their purposes diminished at extended ranges due to extreme bullet deviation caused by the former suppression mechanic.

Now these weapons have a superior advantage at longer ranges to compete with DMRs, medium fire-rate Assault Rifles and Carbines, and Bolt Action Rifles to a certain degree. The enjoyment I have received from these powerhouses is uncanny at times. How do you guys fare with them?

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

How do you guys fare with them?
Well. The SCAR-H is my favorite assault rifle in BF4, and the one I do the best with. To some degree, the same with the ACE 52 CQB. Its kind of always been that way for meI know the M16A3 was "the best" in BF3, and for most players I'm sure its true, but with my play style my results were always far better with the G3A3 or SCAR-H CQB.

Technically, the SCAR-H and ACE 52 are battle rifles, and the same damaging weapons in the support class are MMGs or GPMGs.

Anyways, I kind of like this damage model. It gives DICE a damage gap that can be filled with assault rifles and carbines that fire slightly more powerful "intermediate power" rifle cartridges like the 7.62x39mm, 6.8x43mm SPC, 6.5x39mm Grendel, or .300 AAC Blackout. Such a rifle (for the assault class) would probably do roughly the same damage as Battlefield 3's SCAR-H (30 maximum, 20 minimum).

I sense some mild condescension, but I'll ignore it.


Keep in mind that I play my Battlefield games on console which has poorer graphics, resolution, and draw distance, as compared to PC, therefore diminishing the spotting ability. I primarily play Rush which allows you to know where your enemy is arriving from, but there isn't a foolproof method to prevent from being spotted as an Attacker or Defender against capable players. Inevitably, you will be spotted and players will commence firing causing bullet-deviating suppression.

The console argument appears again in reference to spotting and minimap awareness. Very few players would actually spot the opposition as they were not aware of the feature which in turn created minimap ignorance. So as I am spotting potential targets notifying my team of enemy positions, a congregation of enemies resides somewhere in the map unmarked which complicates my strategy. Eventually, they flank our lines and we become suppressed which impedes accurate return fire.

I do not possess this ability to force my team to play smart. Please enlighten me on how you manage this.

I am fully capable of maintaining accurate, effective fire with the G3A3 at extended ranges. However, I require a 3.4x magnification or higher to accomplish this.

If you truly wish to contribute to the discussion, relay to me your opinions of the improved damage model rather than displaying my lack of people or weapon management.

And it's a straight buff. I don't see how there could be any doubt that this'll make them better at range. So the only thing to really discuss is how good were they at range before the buff.
If you're asking whether this is op, or how it affects gameplay, I may get back to you on that once I have a thousand kills with the Scar-H. Until then there's really no point in speculating.
