M16a4/M4 optimal setup recommendations?
OK looking for the best optimal setups to get the most out of these guns.
I'm a console player who plays a lot of infantry maps.
Heavy Barrel and Stubby Grip.
Added recoil worth it?

Yes of course it is worth it since you can counter all vertical recoil save for an insignificant amount of randomness.

Is that easy to do with a controller and burst fire weapons? I'm pc so maybe I just am unaware of how easy controllers are to use, but that sounds supremely tricky.

It is statisticaly optimal, not easy to use.
My point is just that from the context of the first post this thread is about finding weapon setups that will be functional rather than statistically optimal, though of course I could be misinterpreting the question.

I've used muzzle brake and stubby for awhile but not sure if that's optimal

#1 Do you want to reset spread after each burst, or do you chain bursts until you get a kill?
#2 You play on XB360 so last-gen console?

Pro tip: Never use muzzle brake. It makes your weapon easier to use but also much worse.
