Soldier Hitboxes

Thanks to confusion on my end about exactly how the soldier hitboxes / multipliers worked, Undeadpixels was kind enough to find their hitbox debug tool and take this screenshot for me.

Quoted from "undeadpixels"

Sorry it's hard to read sorta, the legs are a darker blue than the upper body and arms. The light blue guy has body armor equipped, so you can see that body armor also applies to the arms. And the red vs colored is client vs server because the soldiers don't play their little jittery fidget animations on the server, that is why they are offset slightly. And it's hard to tell because of the transparency, but the hip bubble does cover the leg bubbles. Oh also, no collision past the elbows; you can't even shoot the hands or forearms. =)

Was going to post the file that had the hitbox data but...

@Miffyli

I think the data browser is down again.

What happens if your bullet passes through multiple boxes? Does it just count the one with the highest multiplier, or the first it actually hit?

The answer to this would really affect reversing sniper damage models.

…Good question, actually!
And how do collateral shots work? Is it just for headshots?

@BleedingUranium

Whoaah. This is something I've been looking for for a long time (because the rigging data are missing even though we know the hitpill sizes). If we had a picture of the player model facing (and aiming at) the camera in ADS stance, I'd redo the weapon charts and hit simulations. Hmm, maybe even these could give enough info...

Great, now think of all players as vaguely humanoid bulbous blobs of jelly. Sweet, delicious jelly...

And reading Youtube comments still gives me Turbo Cancer.

It really is quite frustrating when Helen Keller sets up her LMG in the only doorway in/out of an area.

What kind of question is that? Since when is cheese ever a bad idea?

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.
