I'm a battlefield player, good sir. I don't play metro.

PC is no longer PC master race. It's PC mustard race, because consoles need to ketchup :'D

DICE gave so much into making commander better, but lemmings be lemmings I guess.

As a good guy that don't want to use overly glitched weapons, I'll quit using the MTAR and switch to the ACWR until it's fixed

+1, I think we're all in agreement that more MrT3as would be an awesome thing
Although if that was the case they'd use up so much of the world's awesome that there'd be none left for the rest of us! :D

nope. You have no idea what that comment has just cost you.

That said, as much as The World Champion like iron sights, The Champion of The World would like them pulled closer. Bad Company 2 did this the best.
You have just read a Post by The World Champion and now feel smarter for doing so.

post-it-hack > irons

The problem with irons that I have is that soemtimes they are right above the barrel making losing your target easier with vertical recoil, and sometimes the sides are to big, so you can lose targets running easily.

These both and maybe add also hindrance in estimating the drop. Shooting to 50 m with a silenced gun (300 m/s) already involves a drop of ~20 cm or with SCAR-H a drop of ~10 cm. If you want headshots or to hit targets behind cover, you really have to aim that bit higher and then you end up with the irons completely covering the target.

What?

I've never had ironsights be an issue at long distance.

I've gotten hackusations for being able to engage someone past 100m using ironsights and killing them. It just takes practice.
Irons actually have reasonable magnification.

I wouldn't disagree at all, and the magnification helps as well. But for me, the negatives of irons are still greater than the positives - with a chevron one can all the time see exactly how far above or below the enemy face the true aimpoint is, which frees me to practice something else :). And yes, getting totally off topic.

20% more zoom than the 1x options

Sourced from:
Iron sights magnify 20% more, too.

And:
game file for irons to 42 FOV instead of 50.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

SG553 Irons were what I used for most of BF3. Played a bit with M4 Irons today and had fun.

If anyone just loves the 1.6x F2000 sight and wish they could use that magnification on another gun- use iron sights. 1.5x FTW

I would, but the irons of most guns have horrible sight pictures. SG553's are amazing though.

It may be that I'm just used to them, but the M1911 Irons are rather glorious as well.

The SG553 has the best iron sights in the game, simply because the rear post doesn't obstruct the front one and the front post is raised enough that the body of the weapon doesn't obstruct your fov. The canted iron sight is also surprisingly good, to the point that I will throw a thin walled rds sight on (kobra) and use the canted iron sights like they came standard on whichever weapon.
