Smart Rockets have 750 m range. LGM has 550 m range. You don't have to be particularly good to get range out of the AH. With 550 m range, you will still cover the majority of flags on any map not being Lancang Dam against an MAA sitting in its base.

it's not about what you could possibly do, it's about what you can ACTUALLY do, i'm pretty sure not everyone can hit consistently with all the heli guns at 700 meters.

They later reversed the changes and replaced them with a hard cap on time slowing which catered to mid-end players who wanted to build around time slows. It made it easier for the really rich players to hit the slow cap but didn't destroy the game for players in the middle.


So the high level builds had a limit to how effective they could be.

That doesn't sound like being balanced around average players, for if it were, they would focus entirely around making sure the average builds were reliable and then ignore the lower and higher level players.

What you describe is more like the developers recognized that there was a huge problem with high level builds and decided they had to limit their effectiveness. Almost sounds like that incident was balanced around the high level players. Exactly like how Darktan described things.

if it has to be effective in a retards hands. then in the hands of a proper MAA driver, like myself for example. It'd be unbeatable.

The chopper fires a bullet that is effectively 3m wide. It fires these bullets in full auto. It can also damage vehicles which are very large targets.

No, the changes in the end made it easier for high level players to max out the time stop and only really impacted characters with medium-level gear. None of their builds were ruined with the second change (they were with the first). The first was a "nerf the high-level players" change which happened to kill a lot of mid-tier players. The second was targeted at the middle and didn't do a ton of damage to the high end (they couldn't stop time, but slowing it to almost nothing and tossing in a second item that removes the enemy's ability to hit amounts to the same thing, gameplaywise). They had the flexibility to throw in the second item because they could afford prohibitively expensive gear that mid-tier players couldn't. It's difficult to describe without going into game mechanics.

Well, if "unchecked air killed tanks" isn't proof that "unchecked air can kill tanks and thus imbalance matches" then I have no idea what you want. Are you contesting that not having air ruins a team? Or are you contesting that an unchecked MAA can destroy air? I tried to ask before and you didn't respond. I'm tempted to think that you're either trolling or trying to lead me in a loop for no reason.

Allegedly balance around mid-tier players.

Changes apply to equipment mid-tier players didn't have, but the problematic higher tier players did.

Somehow not balanced around what high tier players can do.



Sorry, but something is not quite right here.

Unless you're somehow saying that in the end, high tier players got to keep their problematic powers while mid-tier players got shafted,.

The MAA on Paracel, despite being a flag asset and, therefore, rightfully despised, makes, still, for a very simple mechanic. You want your air to fly freely, you have to push Bravo. Sure, let's balance the game around the majority of the player base. However, when the majority, according to you, is, still, too dumb to understand flag assets and how to deal with them, it becomes apparent that, maybe, developing the game around the common denominator would amount to something close to special ed activity planning.

I don't understand your question, though. I've been very clear from the beginning of this discussion. I don't think the MAA can do anything useful from its base, i've never seen OOB camping yield any fructuous result, and it rests with you, the conversation starter, the burden of proof. I'm not being purposefully obstinate; i'm simply having a difficult time accepting "i used teamwork and tanks once and won" as valid support for your original claims.

Agreed, the fact that it's a flag asset is dumb. I used it as an example of a map where one team has an MAA and the other does not.

I have stated numerous times that being able to shoot at over half of the flags on the map is sufficient. Average-level pilots will get tickled and scared or not notice their health dropping. Having uncontested air over half of the map is sufficient to control said half of the map. I am not talking about "infinite skilled hovercamping pilots." I am talking about average-tier pilot/gunner teams who need to be over flags to be effective. You obviously have yet to pay read my arguments, which I've made multiple times.

We have been having completely different arguments this whole time. I agree that the MAA is decently well-balanced for a balance point of high-level players. I feel as though it is poorly balanced if the intended balance point is mid-tier players. No one in this thread appears to have read that any of the half-dozen times I've said it.

Thus, I'm done. You guys kind of suck at debate.

Yeah, that's more or less what happened. High-tier players had to throw in yet another fairly expensive item but they were mostly unaffected by the changes.
