i have a feeling that it has a fixed angle for the toss but is influenced by some low-ass gravity so it doesnt just slam into the ground immediately

Just had a quick look at the files (they're in gadgets BTW)

It seems that they are projectiles with normal -9.8 gravity, and you throw them at different speeds depending on the grenade type, and here's an interesting part - depending on the angle you throw it! There's an array there similar to the angle damage arrays (not the MBT ones, the others though) that makes you throw them faster when you're throwing them downwards, and slower when throwing them upwards.

But you know, the game files have lots of redundant stuff in them so I'm about to head to the test range and see if what I read matches what I see in game.

I still wonder what's up with the 'crosshair' (dot). I guess it indicates the initial throwing angle. I'll keep you psted, but let me know what you guys find :)
