cheating?

So it just happened to me again. on a server where people on my squad were giving the choppers to the other team.

When i ask the for a kick I am told to shut up about it and it is not cheating, which got me wondering.

Does the by the numbers crowd consider this cheating? i mean it is not a hack or anything.
I usually just say it is a server I will no longer be playing on and leave but this is the third time in the last two weeks.


On a side note i am noticing people with DMRs firing ultra fast. I am correct in assuming this is a mouse macro?

It's douche-baggery at its finest, but not classified as cheating. There is no physical alteration of game mechanics involved. To my understanding, macros just enable semi-automatic weapons to be optimized to their maximum fire-rate. Again, not an abuse of game mechanics so it would be technically okay unless you play competitive. Besides, I don't think macros can be detected by conventional means.

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

Macro's can be detected easily since humans don't do rpm "perfectly" like a macro.

Also it is cheating when you do something that is not within game design and for controls(macros) when it is program assisted not full human controled.

as an experienced DMR user I can say:

1. This is not COD - firing with highest possibly RPM of DMR is rather not wise because You do not hit anything because of spread increase.
Optimal RPM of DMR is determined by distance of the target so using macro is possible but rather not practical.

As a bassplayer and an94 lover I practiced several rpm with metronome and it gives much better results than macro and I can play 16 notes at 150 BPM which is 10Hz for a short period of time and very steady 16 notes at 132 BPM for at least 32 bars with conventional two fingers technique which I also adopted for clicking mouse. So there are people who can click very fast even if You can not.

2. Macros are much more practical for automatic weapon because You can program Your mouse for 2 shot microbursting and vertical recoil compensation with simple lua script for logitech gaming mouse.

@ Darth the DMR firing I am talking about is almost like auto fire. If people can fire that fast more power to them. Also you can program the macro and just use it when upclose.

I would say much like the UCAV/Commander combo, or screen watching in a split-screen game, it's not cheating in the sense of exploiting an actual broken mechanic but finding holes in the game balance that are impossible to prevent without causing unnecessary harm to overall gameplay. Basically a few assholes helping the other team isn't worth really doing anything, they could just as easily stack teams all day instead.

I've honestly never had this happen to me before, but I probably haven't been paying attention (I don't use vehicles much). I would definitely say that is cheating, I personally don't think you have to hack the game for it to be called cheating. But another problem...it would be very hard to "convict" them of cheating this way...they could easily that they landed it in the wrong spot, or just didn't want to ride a heli anymore....either way, good luck.

the only kind of griefing I've seen was some dude on my team doing donuts in spawn with a tank (very important asset on a map like silk road) and spamming chat. It's asshattery at its finest -- if I were an admin and saw someone giving the enemy team vehicles on my server I'd ram my foot so hard up the asses of everyone involved that their grandkids could taste it -- but it's not cheating.
