Dragon's Teeth Thoughts and Opinions

I just wanted to know what the opinions are on the new maps. Mine -

Lumphini Garden - A relatively open infantry map with canals throughout? Sign me up.

Pearl Market - My favorite map is Floodzone, so...

Propaganda - I'll have to play this one more to have an opinion.

Sunken Dragon - Combination of Dawnbreaker, Siege of Shanghai, and Lancang Dam, taking the good elements from each? Hell yeah.
I buffed DMR velocity.
QBU is only weapon in my heart. That and the M1911.

Some of the maps play very blandly, but they look very nice. Propaganda is pretty linear, but the monuments and the murals give the game a nice atmosphere that makes you feel like you are actually in Pyongyang.

Pearl Market, in my opinion, is too frantic for me to enjoy. Lots of tight spaces, thin cover, and way too many staircases.

Lumphini Garden can be pretty cool. The poopslide really does change the map entirely and it's pretty fun to watch, too. My favorite part of this map, though, is being a crocodile in the river and shooting people with my pistol when they jump in.

Overall, I'd say that Dragon's Teeth is about as good as Aftermath was. Nothing spectacular, but I feel like Aftermath maps actually played a lot better than DT maps in regards to infantry focus. Sunken Dragon feels like it keeps too large of a gap between one side of the map and the other and Pearl Market doesn't really have any flow to it, and it's hard to figure out where the action is from the alleyways. Those maps, IMO, are the low point of the DLC.

I'm quite happy with the new expansion. It may even beat Naval Strike in my book.

Propaganda is an excellent map. One of my favorites by a longshot. 9.5/10

Pearl Market feels way too much like Grand Bazaar, and I don't care much for it. 5/10

Sunken Dragon is pretty cool...especially point B. Defending that against hordes of enemies just feels amazing. 8/10

Lumphini Garden also feels somewhat unique. I enjoy it for the most part. 7.5/10

The expansion as a whole for me would have to be 9/10.

Spoiler Spoiler

Will it protect against STD's?

I'm a fan of the show, but not a "Brony". I don't obsess over it, but I do watch it and enjoy it.

I'm not sure I understand the comparison between Pearl Market and Grand Bazaar. GB had an epic struggle over B flag down one long alleyway with only two flank routes, and was encircled by street-to-street fighting with the focal points outside of B flag being the parking lot and the market. Pearl Market doesn't have any real centric battles that you can identify. It's more like Talah Market without the flow and more verticality.

Sunken Dragon feels like it keeps too large of a gap between one side of the map

That's my least favorite map for conquest. It seems like the team that spawns across the water is at a big disadvantage. If the other team gets a hold of that B (or is it A?) flag inside that first building which is flooded, it's difficult to get it back because most of the capping area is in the water, where you can only use your pistol. All the while the other team can chill on the upper floor shooting down at the attackers like fish in a bowl. Also, to advance into enemy territory the team that spawns on that side of the map has two choices: cross the water, which is defended by players on high ground across from you, or cross that narrow bridge....

I probably need to play it more (maybe I missed some better routes?) and the bad team I had may have magnified the issues I mentioned.

This is my version of REP for you. ^^ That was funny, it made me laugh.

----------------------------------------------

My very first impression is fun. These maps are just plain fun. I've only played Conquest Large insofar, and I can only expect Rush to be just as enjoyable if not more.

Lumphini Garden has a cool atmosphere where the area is clouded in a fine mist. The map flows well with plenty of cover from structures, obstacles, and elevation change in the terrain, and to be honest the locale just looks beautiful.

Sunken Dragon is complicated. I don't know what to think just yet. Although I do like the sightlines that the expanse over the lake provides and the fact that your territory is secluded reducing the influx of flanking opportunities.

Pearl Market is claustrophobic. It is difficult to move through the map without dying every 30 seconds because the angles of exposure are many and wide. I do like ambushing unsuspecting enemies in the double decker buses though.

Propaganda is stunning. The mood is fitting for a concrete cityscape in the midst of war and the lack of color adds to that feature. The linearity is actually refreshing. It is easy to anticipate where the enemy is considering who has which flags. Not like the Vanilla maps where the opposition can be everywhere and anywhere. Certainly my favorite of the pack.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

On conquest I don't like sunken dragon all that much, its too small. Particularly for the scout helis. I managed to commandeer the US one as china and I spent the whole match in it gunning down their guys and hiding behind all the buildings on the china side when my flares were on cooldown. Eventually they had so many stingers looking for me I had to crash land it in a stair well. The flight ceiling and boundaries are way too small, but I'd say instead of buffing them just remove the scout helis.

Pearl market and propaganda I only played on chain link, I really like the chaos of pearl, but I didn't like how the chain link flags were staggered up and down stairs. Propaganda I like, especially the crappy neighborhood area.

The garden map is pretty well made too, and its got the coolest levolution of all I think. Probably the most impactful as well.

All in all I think its a great Dlc and ill definitely spend more time with the new maps in a week when the destiny beta is over.
