Silenced Shotguns

What do you guys think if DICE added suppressors for shotguns, will you guys love the addition? ( If you ever watched the movie : No Country For Old Men, silenced shotguns are real)

There was a suppressed SPAS12 for developers only in BF3. If you think about the actual mechanics for shotguns, you start running into problems why suppressing them wouldn't work.

Really, that works for anything.

But ehhhhhhh. It wouldn't really add much to the game. Shotguns would be even closer range, which isn't exactly helpful.
I buffed DMR velocity.
QBU is only weapon in my heart. That and the M1911.

I can see them working. You'd have to trade something more than velocity for the benifits, though. Possibly reduced pellet count?

Insta-OP. I don't want to see this happen. It was fun in COD. Shotguns are already OHK most of the time, so adding a silencer to it would turn people into claymores.. just parking in a dark spot, blasting whatever walks by.

I'm fine with the idea. Obviously there would have to be a stat trade off. But when you think about it most maps don't really facilitate shotguns anyway, so being a bit sneakier with the shotgun would be a boon. The only maps I find decent with a Shotgun are Floodzone in the middle, Zavod in the middle, maybe Lockers if your smart and the same goes for Metro. But Lockers and Metro are highly lane oriented so you need to be careful/sneaky. For the most part your at a huge disadvantage with the shotguns, unless you play it smart. This would be again a nice boost for the shotguns, but naturally it needs a trade off for being silenced.

The only problem with it is that shotguns dont tend to appreciate things like reduced velocity. It directly influences lethality IRL & that is where you simply cannot afford a reduction in damage... i think an increase in pellet spread would be appropriate though
