I believe the main reason why it "feels clunky" is because of the sprint animation. The bit at the beginning of the animation feels as if you're going slower even though you're not but the time it takes for the animation to transition into the full sprinting animation makes it feel slow and clunky. If they just changed the animation it would immediately feel snappier in my opinion.

that sprint ramp up was added for realism, as well as one of the ways to discourage the bunny hopping that was so prevalent in BF3.

I don't see how that's realistic, sure you don't immediately accelerate to top speed but your arm and body movements are basically the same throughout. Jumping could be easily reduced by making it reduce your forward velocity in a way that makes it slightly slower than just sprinting

actually, that's exactly what you'd do. it's simple physics; your body needs to overcome its own inertia, and your movements at the start of the sprint are way different during the first seconds. this is doubly true when you are holding something as large and heavy as a rifle.

I know what you're trying to say but it generally doesn't take two full seconds

It's a rather real thing though. Inertia's a bitch.

Spoiler Spoiler

This is Usain Bolt's acceleration. You know, the olympic runner 'n shit

After 2 seconds, he hasn't even reached his topspeed yet (the curve only becomes steeper). Acceleration seems to have succeeded at about 3 seconds.

So, are you a better runner than Usain Bolt?

Just imagine how bad it'd be with 15kg(+) of equipment, ammunition, etc...for someone that hasn't spend the last 10 years of his life running for 30 hours a week

*still, the running isn't even that much of an issue in BF4. You can run for an unlimited amount of time, and the acceleration barely ever gets you killed: it's a nice semi-realistic feature

Hardline is a fun and sometimes silly Cops and Robbers sorta thing and I think that's great. Or it would be if it didn't suck.

I hate the seemingly constant getting killed around cover or straight through it (I'm talking about I'm behind it and the kill cam shows them out in the open) and the lag on lagcang dam and Rubberband resort. And there's the constantly being 1 hit by guns still because they can't fix the lag or net code to actually show the guy approaching and shooting you 4-7 times in the last '2 seconds. And getting killed by people with 0 health..
I can't even go back to bf3, not that I would go back to such an inferior experience (12v12 on last gen system? I'd rather having nothing at all, thx)

I've simply accepted the fact that this is how dice is, and that in the future I will be waiting till the price of their products reflects the actual value of it before I purchase it. Unfortunately for me I jumped on the next gen bandwagon from the get go without a single top tier game launching with the system, and I went with the one I thought would be the least bad of them all.
