Unintentional
I usually use the angled/folding or stubby/potato on guns, only really use the ergo/vertical on the A-91 because 800rpm hipfire cannon

A fellow A-91 enthusiast, eh? It appears we are two of a select few who appreciate it.

And to remain relatively on-topic, I have not experimented the A-91 with the heavy barrel; however it could be an effecient setup with the correct, complementary grip.
To Aim Assist or not to Aim Assist, that is the question.

Nope. Aim Assist or bust; here's why:

that means that you achieve ADS accuracy faster. ADS/Hip fire accuracy are not toggles. You actually transition between the two.
hey can you explain in more detail? you mean like if I use laser my hip fire spread is 1.5, meaning it's faster to get to 0.2 than if I don't use a laser and have a hip spread of 2.5?

Yes. 15/s decrease rate.

That's exactly how it works, Woopsy.

I have used LSAT+HB+stubby with great success. The added recoil is very manageable. I use that when I have had enough of DMR and want to enter "bullet-hose" mode! :D

Have you tried the M240B with HB and bipod? It's a great DMRish setup, in fact, sometimes more effective than DMRs themselves. Too bad LMGs don't have a single fire mode

Yes I have and I posted the exact same thing in the M240B thread! :D

On that note it's worth mentioning again that a bipodded MG gets the bipod-bonus when you fire it from the seat of any vehicle (scout, quad, dirtbike etc.)

OMG, gonna try that right now :D

EDIT: So.. tested on the test range. Works awesomely. Can't wait to get on the side of that scout chopper and snipe the enemy pilots :) Is this a glitch or intended?

To be honest, every time I try to put the heavy barrel on any other gun, I get frustrated. The accuracy is nice, but I'm not comfortable with dragging the right control stick even harder than I'm used to. Console problems, though, I suppose. It's weird, though, considering I used the heavy barrel on a lot of guns back in BF3.

The BF3 heavy barrel only increased the vertical recoil by like 15% so it was hardly even noticeable.

Back in BF3 the M416 had 0.26 vertical recoil naked and 0.288 with the heavy barrel. In BF4 the values are 0.32 and 0.48. That is a massive increase! It should be easy to compensate for, but in reality it often isn't. I used the heavy barrel for a few hundred kills but went back to the compensator. That vertical recoil is just too massive to be consistent with. Furthermore, the accuracy bonus of the heavy barrel is not as big as in BF3. Reducing horizontal recoil with the compensator gives more effectiveness when combined with its the higher ease-of-use. At least that is what I think.

Recently tried using it on the AK5C to much success. In my experience, the HB is most useful on weapon with already low recoil and high accuracy to further improve their effectiveness. Using an HB on weapons like the FAMAS or L85 is next to useless considering their already high recoil stats and low effectiveness at long range as opposed to the AK5C or AK12 derivatives. If you want to cope with the higher recoil in those cases however; you can bring your weapon's effective range up significantly (despite it's close-range intended stats.)

HBs are also ideal for bipod use, where the added recoil has little effect.
