as for the Engi assigment its also a nice idea to have Mecanic perk equipped, since you can repair faster=you gain ribbons faster
and for the recon i find to sweet spots for myself (despite the obvious and equiping the SRR): first is a first set of m-coms on siege of shanghai on rush. attackers usually jump on the left buiding and peaking their nose out. 2 kills - a ribbon already
the second one is rush again on zavod. as an attacker you can climb on roof of central building (the one is on the right) and have pretty much nice look on the tower at last set of m-com. the distance is nearly perfect 300. and why is good? because you can easly zero on this distance, and voila, every kill a ribbon

"Farm" Op. Locker for gun kills. Or just do some good old-fashioned TDM (or even DOM).

Recon: Probably the hardest of them all. The marksman ribbons I find are best gotten on Golmud Railway TDM/DOM. Just snipe from buildings.

If you guys have any tips for these, feel free to post them here.
I will only add for recon, a marksman ribbon doesn't require a 250m headshot, rather the ribbon is a sum of 250m headshots (5x 50m headshots bonus for example), and the fastest way to do it is on rush maps, maybe obliteration also :)

Do you actually need to get the marksman bonus though? Like for example, what if you get 25 10m headshots?

250/250m of marksman bonuses yes, only headshots wouldn't work.
marksman bonus sets in from a certain range, somewhere between 25m and 90m.
but you can get like 200m and 100m but in ONE round. apparently for some people it doesn't work though 8| , beta is all I'll say
but @Aenonar andme found a sweet spot on Shanghai where you can do it with a friend in like 30minutes.
Of course a bonus of 250m requires to be done in one round as you need a ribbon, like every ribbon in the game is done during a round :) and 50 marksman ribbons is not that much .. I, for example, had much more problems unlocking flanker skin :)

For the Recon Marksman Ribbon I have just 3 words to say: Rush Carrier Sniping.

Paracel storm is a great place to do this as the objectives are 400-500m away, so every headshot at this range will be a marksman headshot.

Hainen Resort is a bit trickier as the objectives get to be 500-600m, but you might have to deal with snipers up to 800m away. You could also snipe from the island 300m closer, but you'll be putting yourself at a greater risk of dangerous counterfire.

However the FYJS seems lame for it's requirements, I mean sure it has a 6 m/s/s bullet drop, a fast bullet speed, 11 round mag, and a decent cycle rate, but all these benefits only really noticeably appear after 100m where it can't OHK headshot anymore or are accomplished by the other BASRs that can OHK headshot at any range. The L96, or M40A5 is probably much better in this regard, so don't feel too bad if you haven't unlocked the meh bolt action. The real star of the BASR's is the GOL Magnum. (JK it's the SRR-61)

for the Engi Veteran assignment, I'm finding it easy to just hijack the transport heli (most people don't use it), crash it (the key is to make the crash nonlethal), switch to one of the non-minigun seats and repair. That way, you don't have to make yourself a tasty multikill for the enemy MAA/any Engi with stinger missiles. Your team might think you're an absolute dunce when it comes to flying though, but who cares? You're getting your own sh*t done.
You could do the same thi ng with scout choppers, and potentially jeeps and quad bikes

About the mechanic field upgrade, wouldn't faster repair mean you get less repair points and repair ribbons?

I think it scales with how much vehicle damage you repair. Like, if you rep X percentage of a vehicle, DING! Here's your repair points. So, the Mechanic field upgrade would speed up the process quite nicely.

And I chose the transport helo because:
1) no one in their right mind uses it, so it's usually open
2) it has 50% more health than the scout helo (750 compared to 500). Therefore, you have less of a chance of fireballing the chopper if you take an unintentionally bad spill.

Especially would avoid crashing the ATV's and dirt bikes anyways. Those things are bombs on wheels. I'm serious, too; hit anything with them -- trees, especially steep hills (like 70 degrees+), tall sidewalks -- and they just explode without warning. But, I guess if you were looking to do it on the ground, go with the heavy transport vehicles, i.e. MRAP and its Russian and Chinese counterparts. Only problem I found with doing that is that it makes you an easy-to-reach target for C4-happy recon scrubs.
