Anyway, I thought of something else sparked by this concept. Why did EA put DICE in charge of developing Battlefront? Battlefield 2142. There is a common misconception with people that STAR WARS is futuristic. It is certainly science fiction, no doubt, but futuristic it is not. The introduction states just that:

"A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away."

I'm sure STAR WARS influenced some aspects of 2142 there is no denying that, so since DICE pulled inspiration from that resource they are utilizing that same mindset to form Final Stand. With talk about walker-mech suits, hover tanks, pod launchers, and overwhelming evidence of a Titan being constructed I think we can say with confidence that DICE LA is laying this Expansion out as the foundation of 2142.

So Jais, while these are recycled mechanics from a previous Battlefield, they initiated with STAR WARS to a degree. Re-implementing these components in Final Stand represents a confirmation that the same coding from 2142's Engine works in the Frostbite 3 Engine which happens to be the Engine Battlefront is being conceived in.

This is a speculation thread for a reason. :)

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

Now let's not needlessly argue semantics. Star Wars is certainly sci-fi (or space opera, sci-fantasy or whatever) and I don't think you'll find many people arguing that it's not really "futuristic" just because Lucas decided to give a disclaimer stating that it actually happens in the past. Every aesthetic in SW screams futuristic. Anyway, I forgot why we're even discussing whether it's futuristic or not.

Either way, I doubt we'll see a BF2143 anytime soon. This DLC is just a homage to 2142 with plenty of easter eggs to tie the two games together. That's neat, but I also think that's all there is to it.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing what DICE makes of Battlefront, with walkers, lasers, jedis and whatnot.

IMO if DICE really isn't putting new class weapons in with Final Stand, I don't have any reason to come back to BF4 from Destiny. Badly timed marketing there, EA.

Okay, lets talk about BOW. Potential stats, implementation (all-kit gadget, Recon specific gadget, Recon specific weapon, or DMR classification) and possible arrow types. We know it is a compound bow from this image:

A quick search on compound bow velocity gave me this: Determining The REAL Speed (FPS) Of a Compound Bow

A standard bow propels an arrow at 320 feet per second which translates to roughly 100 m/s. Balance is better than realism, so I'm sure DICE fudged the numbers a bit to make the BOW (as we'll call it) viable at whatever range it is set to excel at.

All-class gadget, four arrow types:

-Combat. Basically lower velocity / higher drop Slugs that bypass Armour and are always one hit kill to a respectable distance and always one headshot.

-Explosive. Comparable to M320 HE, but with less splash and more direct damage, especially on vehicles, and notably higher drop than standard.

-Motion Sensor. On an arrow. Pretty straight forward.

-Designating. Bad Company 2's Tracer Dart Pistol; creates a laser designation lock wherever it lands, vehicle or not.







-Smart Arrows.

What was the Xbow's velocity? It should be somewhere slightly less than that kind of power. Or even the same/slightly more considering the Xbow was a jury-rigged gadget. I'd vote for equal or more m/s. We'll probably see the same kind of long and short range arrows. Maybe even all 4 types.

the Sebstalder is quiet good since it can 3hit kill at any distanc ,but In my opinion i actually thikn the sweeper is better, its got a really really fast firerate that can beat alll those Noobmaticos, Helregall adn shitguns in close quarters , and its also really accurate out to like l;ong range,. overall great allround gun, jsut my 2$ tho

The stats? Those are just the BF3 Xbow stats. We haven't learned anything new about the bow, all we know is what it looks like thanks to that picture, that it's called Spyder in real life and Shadow Hunter in game, and the description:

"The signature weapon of Phantom Program soldiers given to members who have completed their initiation. It's short effective range shouldn't pose a problem for a true Phantom Operative."
