That it can be killed, and quite easily, by small arms and hand grenades is easily the biggest problem with the MP-APS. An interesting buff would be to make it considered heavy armour, meaning it would only take damage from things that damage MBTs/IFVs/MAAs; the trick would be to kill it while it's on cool down, which still would be that hard. I really don't think this would be unreasonable at all.

The infantry under it's protection would still be vulnerable to the small arm weapons on vehicles, which makes it still pretty crappy against tanks. Would make it quite potent against LAVs and the 25mm on the littlebirds or 30mm on AHs if it can hit up at that angle of fire.

True. It could also be much clearer on exactly what the area it protects is, including vertically. Of course, if it gave points, one would naturally learn this simply by using it...

Javelin >>> UCAV vs boats. Helicopters? That's what the MAA and flying things are for. And tanks, and javelins + SOFLAM. UCAV is a swiss army knife, poor at a variety of things.

You misunderstand. Javelins may be good at damaging just the watercraft, but it does no splash damage to the crew. The UCAV inflicts lethal splash damage to the crew while severely crippling the FAC; a guaranteed Mobility hit and something in the neighborhood of 40 damage. Multitasking at its finest.

Oh, the UCAV also does not care about APS at all, he'll get ya right through that little wuss shield.

I don't have competent armor operators, pilots, or Engineers to rely on, so I decided to take matters into my own hands. And the UCAV gave me the power to do just that.

One of his favorite snacks are roof Wookies, too, often in sections where the XM-25 cannot harm them. I'm a player who advocates versatility. Rocket launchers, MANPADS, M224 Mortar, XM-25 all have a unique agenda, but the UCAV combines the best qualities of each all into one, deadly, buzzing package of destruction.

I'm just trying to spread the wealth here. :)

Hey Tanky, can you do THAT with the XM-25? :P

@Browser

Oh hey, just saw you response. It didn't notify me for some reason. Anyway,
An example is the BA Bolt which did 80 damage in Bf3, but had a 1.25 chest multiplier making it 100 damage to the chest at max damage range.
Balanced Bolt:
Damage 80-50
Range 20-100
Velocity 150
Gravity -2.0

It did have a 1.25x Chest Multiplier and the Balanced Bolt's max. damage was 80, but the min. damage was 50. Therefore, allowing a one shot headshot at max. range, but a 50*1.25 body shot value at max range. So it was not 100 damage to the chest at max. range, but I have a feeling you know that. :)

Hey Tanky, can you do THAT with the XM-25? :P

@Browser

Basically, my hope for the XBOW is that the BA and Regular Bolt get a buff or two in damage to compensate for the addition of body armor, while also getting a velocity buff because reasons (DMRs all kit and therefore the BA is less useful, even a slight velocity buff would help). Also, it should get the addition of new arrows to its arsenal, due to the increased versatility a soldier in bf4 has in comparison to one in Bf3. However, a drawback would be that you can only have 4-5 arrow types in your arsenal at any given point. Don't know how this would be implemented in the customization menu. Perhaps it gets its own customization page and every single slot is taken up by Arrow choices? The reason for restricting it to 4 arrows out of like 8 is partly due to simplicity with the HUD, but also to do with forcing you to choose smartly with your arrows. Say you're running support with an M60, Ammo, flash bangs, and UCAV ;) ; you won't need the regular bolt or the BA bolt (M60 best sniper), but you could use the explosive bolt for close range anti vehicle situations, the regular bolt for close range, the grappling hook because vantage points for lmging and UCAV, and the sensor bolt to keep people from sneaking up on you.

I don't mention a side arm simply because in an ideal world the Xbow would be your sidearm. It'd help with customization.

Thoughts?
I buffed DMR velocity.
QBU is only weapon in my heart. That and the M1911.

PS: I am the pinnacle of maturity.
