Qbb-95.

The QBB-95 is available through the Back to Karkand expansion pack after completing the Let It Rain assignment, composed of 2 mortar kills and 20 LMG kills, and is based on the QBB-95/QBB-97 Chinese light machine gun.

The QBB-95 is part of the modern PLA, the Chinese Peoples' Liberation Army. Its the squad automatic weapon companion to the QBZ-95 light assault rifle (itself available in BF3 in the B variant, an engineer carbine). The real QBB-95 fires 5.8x42mm DBP ammunition, itself a Chinese specific caliber, from either 30 round box mags or 80 round drums. In Battlefield 3, it comes standard with 75+1 capacity, and the extended magazine option unlocks at 350 kills.

While not in BF3, the QBB-97 is the "export" version, chambered in 5.56 NATO.

The QBB-95 is a magazine based LMG, which means it benefits from a drastically reduced reload time, but a lower ammo capacity than the belt fed LMGs. The primary difference from the rest is that it holds the most ammunition of any of its ilk, with the con of having the longest reload.

The QBB-95 features single round, three round burst, and full automatic fire modes. It has the highest velocity of all the LMGs, tied with the AUG for the highest in game, even over the sniper rifles.

The 75+1 capacity combined with its slower 650RPM rate of fire means it can be used to provide a reasonable period of suppressive fire, with quicker reloads than the belt feds. The other unique ability of the QBB-95 is its bipod appears to deploy quicker and with less "fussing" than any other LMG due to the fact that it always in its "deployed," legs down position. This allows rapid set up and tear down, allowing you to provide ample ability to provide covering fire to team members as the rush in.

On the opposite hand, the QBB-95 is a bullpup style rifle, and features the lowest moving spread, as well as hipfire spread, of all the LMGs, a benefit to the on-the-move run and gun style of play. With its lower rate of fire, easily controllable recoil, and ample magazine capacity, it can easily be used on the move, or combined with the rapid deploy bipod, entrenched into position.

The QBB-95 features the usual gamut of LMG accessories. Some options below:

Bipod, 0 kills: Comes by default and is one of the two under barrel options. There's little reason to not use it now, and you'll find this option makes the most sense through your entire use of this weapon.

PKA-S Holo, 10 kills: This replaces the winky little peep sight. Use it until your preferred optic unlocks.

Laser Sight, 20 kills: You know what this does. YMMV. The QBB-95 is well suited to hipfire, but whether your style or not is another question.

Foregrip, 30 kills: There's little reason to take this over the bipod. The recoil isn't bad, and the ability to lock it down and lance out Sino-laserfire is hard to resist.

Flashlight, 40 kills: Again, YMMV. Considering at this stage, its between laser and flashlight, it comes down to if you see a need vs. willing to turn it off.

PK-A, 50 kills: Clean reticle and minimal onscreen real estate loss vs. speed of deployment of the holo. Many users have used the QBB-95 in a precision role due to its burst fire and velocity.

Flash suppressor, 60 kills: Finally a replacement for the light shows. The QBB-95 recoil is surprisingly easy to tame, so it begins to come down to play style. Suppressive fire fans, who play Support as intended, probably benefit most from this barrel attachment for now.

Kobra RDS, 70 kills: I feel this augments the quicker bipod deployment and the faster ADS nicely, providing a cleaner and more pleasing field of view than any other optic (outside of the Reflex, personal taste rules that choice).

Suppressor, 80 kills: Personal opinion, LMGs don't use suppressors. I have no experience in this because its silly. There, I said it.

IRNV, 100 kills: I never use the IRNV, either, so I apologize for a lack of knowledge.

Heavy Barrel, 300 kills: Sure, it increases your vertical recoil, but minimally, and at so many advantages. Bipoded, you've got a veritable death ray in use, and even on the run the increased lethality at range and drastically reduced spread basically erases almost all the disadvantages of an LMG, making it a no-brainer compared to the flash suppressor. Play-style dictates your call between this and the light shows, but the massive benefits of the bull barrel just about logically overwhelm anything else.

Extended Magazine, 350 kills: Why bother. For most LMGs, extended mags are a huge bonus, significantly increasing or even doubling the amount of fire you can put down, essential for a proper Support suppressive fire playstyle. However, at 75+1, you've got every other magazine based LMG beat with their extended mags, and you're only somewhat down from even a belt fed weapon, but still faster to reload. With most LMGs, the prospect of extended or not needs to be weighed to fit your chosen style of play, but with the QBB-95 its almost silly to opt for them when you've already unlocked the heavy barrel attachment, anyways.

Scattered throughout the rest the kill count are the remaining optics, including the 4x, 7x, and American counter parts. With the exception of Holo, I prefer the Soviet versions in the lower mag range, and feel that the higher mag ranges are wasted options. Sure, you can do it, but why would you?

The QBB-95's varied benefits can easily morph into any available Support playstyle, so additional kit gadgets are at your discretion. The sole suggestion I might make in outfitting the rest of your kit is to opt for a silenced pistol, whichever you find to be the most pleasing. Since you've got the option to lay down 76 rounds at a raucous rate, a silenced side arm for those moments of stealth can be essential.

I'd like it if you could go over how the weapon is meant to be used. This is more of a weapon unlock guide than anything.

Incest is intriguing, due to the taboos placed upon it in our society. It can be a beautiful thing, and it should be explored more.

Best. LMG. Ever. I love this thing. It's the perfect hipster weapon too; I'm in the top 2% with only a little over 1,000 kills. In my opinion, it is the perfect LMG for a mobile Support who wishes he had an AR and likes to engage targets at least at medium range.

The gun has it's extended mags restored last patch along with it getting the Heavy Barrel. Also, I agree with Jenkins. The one sentence on using this with a "Run and gun game style" isn't sufficient depth when it comes to strategy for a gun review. But when it comes to all the other sections of your review I think it was great. I was thinking of doing this one myself but decided not to. And my version wouldn't have had the hawt Chinese chick with a Qbb-95 picture. So I think your review is superior to whatever result I would have come up with.

A hint for expanding/improving the review. Talk about the context of the rifles stronger stats when compared to the other weapons. Not just it's hipfire bonus, but also it's incredibly fast bullet velocity and bullpup ADS movement speed. Talk about how you can optimize your tactics so you use those advantages as much as possible.

It's been a while since I last posted and saw these new review threads. Here is my previous post about the QBB-95in a thread about heavy barrels.

I've never been a run and gun type chap so support has always been my preference, but I like to move around, so the QBB-95 was the perfect set up for a mid range assault/suppress role just behind the front lies,as it were.

I am ranked 11 in the world for the QBB-95 - (62K kills), so hopefully my review will be helpful.

H-Bar is essential. Depending on the map I run it with Holo / M145 and bi-pod.

With H-bar on and shooting standing/crouching it is essential to burst fire. The H-bar gives a more or less straight up vertical recoil with very little side to side recoil or spread. (many hours of shooting at walls with various attachments). If you just spray and pray then your spread will be massive unless you can see the whites of their eyes.

I have taken guys out at very long ranges with this method. If using the bi-pod, it is also essential to burst fire. You wont believe how easy it is to clear snipers of the Canals crane when bi-poding up behind a train carriage. Laser like accuracy.

If you have a playstyle where you plan a route through a map / to the objective, hold and area then move on, then this weapon is lethal.

The slower fire rate makes it easy to control, aim centre mass and the recoil takes you straight up for the headshot a close ranges. At longer ranges just burst fire two shots and it's 1000M range and ADS accuracy does the rest.

Unless your proficient at headshots at CQB, then 9 times out of 10 you'll lose against assault class weapons. But if you play the map and QBB-95 to its strengths then even on Canals TDM you can win. If you are using it to run and gun then crouch before shooting for a much better spread than standing. Also it has fantastic hip fire accuracy so adding a laser sight has proved effective for me because of the low moving spread.

Don't dismiss using it on single fire mode as well. The gun has the longest range and the joint top bullet velocity in the game and it's sniper rifle accurate even on the move without using the bi-pod. If an enemy is running away at ranges of say 30m + and I don't have time to prone, then you will be amazed how easy and accurate single fire is to use.
So to sum up:

H-bar is a must.
Don't run and gun.
Burst fire for best accuracy and recoil pattern.
Always crouch for even better spread ADS.
Keep distance and cover between you and enemy.
Plan you route for best bi-pod placements.
Fore-grip is useless for ranges beyond 30M.

Single fire mode is highly accurate.

Nice review for an excellent BF weapon.

I don't necessarily think you need more detail on how the weapon should be used as that is wholly subjective. Plus, the review is comprehensive enough that its recommended play-style is implied.

I have 2 main play styles with the QBB.

1 is with a foregrip, extended mag, laser sight, and kobra. Take advantage of the QBB being a bullpup by making its hipfire accuracy even better. Either give it more rounds or a laser sight to improve its hipfire.

My other setup is with a bipod, heavy barrel, and kobra or 3.4x scope. Take advantage of another strength the QBB has, which is an incredible bullet velocity. Bipod it down and you've got yourself an LMG with very little drop and deadly accuracy. I wouldn't recommend it without the heavy barrel though, since the larger machine guns are better when bipodded, but they do not have the option of equipping a heavy barrel.
