Starting the count at the first frame of the ADS animation and counting until the first bullet fires, then comparing the impacts to full ADS accuracy


M249 red dot, foregrip, silencer

Expected time:
with silencer: 5 + 34% = 6.7 / 11 = 0.609 seconds
without silencer: 5 / 11 = 0.455 seconds

13 frames 0.429 seconds - sort of accurate..
16 frames 0.533 seconds - accurate

kinda hard to time it... Had a lot more tries faster or slower



M16A4 red dot, foregrip, silencer

Expected time:
with silencer: 2.5 + 34% = 6.7 / 11 = 0.305 seconds
without silencer: 2.5 / 11 = 0.227 seconds

3 frames 0.099 seconds - fail
4 frames 0.132 seconds - fail
5 frames 0.165 seconds - fail
6 frames 0.198 seconds - sort of accurate..

8 frames 0.264 seconds - sort of accurate..
9 frames 0.297 seconds - accurate
10 frames 0.333 seconds - accurate
11 frames 0.366 seconds - accurate
12 frames 0.396 seconds - accurate


Not entirely sure how the spread decrease works or how far it goes, so the "expected" values are down to 0... So, since I was using silencer it looks like it's even faster than it's supposed to be ;o

ah thats interesting, i never understood the sense of the "spread decrease" value. and i didn't believe there would be such a huge difference between assaultrifles/carbines and supportweapons. anyway, 0.5 seconds to gain full accuracy? that's very long...

Since they mentioned accuracy regain after stopping will be faster after the patch, i wonder if that means we'll have a higher spread decrease value or a lower spread value while moving (ads or not).

For a fast paced purebred FPS maybe, though BF3 randomly claims that it's aiming to be more realistic which would make the aim recovery pretty fast.. So yeah... Would be better if they could decide between realism or CoD wannabe : /

Can't find anything in the patch data about any special changes in spread or spread reduction.. Looks pretty much the same..


So yeah... Maybe they'll speed up the accuracy recovery somehow, or they're fixing something we haven't even thought about :s

Since the ADS would be hastened, would the slightly helpful laser pointer would be nullified? I mean, just train your trigger finger to always ADS before engaging and then....

I thought the only thing that was going to be hastened was spread reduction after moving, not spread reduction after zooming in. Am i wrong?
