burst fire weapon spam and m320 buck

2 things. Can anyone explain me how exactly jamming of burst fire weapons works? It happens to me all the time when i use the m16a4.:/
m320 buck.......THis thing feels so cool, but for whatever reason it has the worst hitreg out of any weapon in the game. Is it somehow glitched or is it just that you notice more because if that one shot misses you are dead? Halp pls

1) Burst weapons jam when the speed of clicking*bullets per burst*rpm exceeds the overall rpm of the weapon. i.e. m16a4 -> 800rpm, 3 round burst: it will settle into full auto at 266,6666666666667 clicks per minute, and it will jam if you exceed that
2) bigass spread (0.4), resulting in unrealiability, resulting in "ahmagawd i totally hit that duuuude" -> no you didn't

Edit: Probably i just suck as stop clicking properly when i am excited and try to click very fast

1200/2 = 600 clicks per minute

which is 1 click every 0.1 seconds, 2 clicks every 0.2 seconds

if you click more than twice in those 0.2 seconds. or you click 6x in 1 second, then the an94 is going go all like "f your sheet" and jam

it happens less often, because you're less likely to exceed the 600 cpm limit, than you are to exceed the 266.6812340617601260 cpm limit

Sure thats clear. I just thought it was humanly impossible to click that fast :P

This was discussed sometime ago: ToTheSun! argued that clicking faster than 10 hz does not cause AN to jam but rather just coerce to the max 1200 rpm rate. The Riki-Oh technique is evidence for this because it is very easy to exceed 10 Hz with two fingers. Sun also suggested that jam are caused by too long mouse button down times, which in turn is evidenced at least by my keyboard experiments (where AN jams very often and key down times are large). This could be conclusively easily tested with a macroed mouse.

Tell me what exactly needs to be tested and I'll try to do this.

It is not impossible. It's just that not everyone can do it even with practice.

I would first test a constant rpm macro with varying mouse down times. For example, for 15 shots, make down-to-down event intervals 100 ms and the down-time durations (down-to-up event intervals) increase from 30 to 95 ms). Test in an unranked, non-pb server. If not all shots are fired, there has been a jam. A slowed video (or acute hearing) can tell which shot failed.

Alternatively, or second, one can make a few different macros. Again with 15 shots but now constant rate and constant down-time in each macro. (for example alll with 100 ms down-to-down intervals and variable (like 50, 70, 90 ms) down-time durations. When you find the longest down time that gives perfect rpm out and the shortes down time that causes jams, you've got a winner.

If it is the down time that causes the jams.

You can also test the alternative hypothesis (too fast clicking causes jams) by making the down time very short (like 30 ms) and introducing < 100 ms down-to-down intervals into the series of bursts.

Burst weapons tend to be strange. If you take the A4 and do a fast double click, it will fire a 6-round continuous burst. However, if you do a fast triple click at the exact same speed, it will do a 6-round burst and jam.

Element and I now believe that this is due to an attribute called "trigger weight" in the gun files. If, other than the first click, at any time your trigger down time does NOT exceed this trigger weight, the gun simply didn't fire. Trigger weight also appears to influence spread recovery.

Most likely your finger fucks up the click.
