### Negative recoil values?

I wonder why BetterBattlelog shows negative recoil values for shotguns, for example USAS-12:

Recoil decrease 6
Recoil left -0.1 (????)
Recoil up 1.5
Recoil right 0.3

Since I know that BBlog retrieve their data from this site, could someone around here explain the issue?

I think it means instead of recoiling to the left it will actually recoil more to the right 0.1. Not 100% sure just how i perceive it.

Its exactly what it looks like. The maximum possible leftward kick is negative, thus it will always kick at least slightly rightward. At least, that's what logic and in-game experience say.
My PC:

In a perfect world, we could ban all guns and just be safe. But this world, on even its best day, sucks.

The answer is actually really really complicated. I'm not sure how old they are but the better battlelog stats are out dated, at least partially. It looks like they pulled the shotgun data straight from the data and not from our charts like the rest of the data. The raw data and what the charts say are slightly different. The charts are....interpreted a bit.
The current USAS recoil is

### Source code

1
2
3
4
5
6
7

Recoil::GunSwayRecoilData
RecoilAmplitudeMax 10.0
RecoilAmplitudeIncPerShot 1.5
HorizontalRecoilAmplitudeIncPerShotMin -0.4
HorizontalRecoilAmplitudeIncPerShotMax 0.4
HorizontalRecoilAmplitudeMax 10.0
RecoilAmplitudeDecreaseFactor 6.0

As for how EXACTLY the values work we don't currently know unfortunately. We just know how to interpret them to match what is seen in the game.

Thanks. Do you have any API's that allow to get recoil/time to kill/bullets to kill data in JSON format and which could be also addressed in Java?

We don't have that ability at the moment and I don't think it their are any plans to implement anything like that any time soon. Although I'm not really the guy who know. You would have to ask @Sym if he plans on doing anything like that. It would be pretty cool if we did...even if I don't know what I would use it for yet.

well then I'll have to add the data manually.. Where do you have the recoil data from? Could not find it around this site, only TTK/BTK

In other words, this game's code looks like it's written by 5 year old kiddo compared to how DICE did things with BF3.

Yes! It's Micky Mouse's Magical Buttrape House
