BF3 End Game - New AA, Dropship and Dirtbikes + general information

First of all, I would like to thank Legion and AL_GR33N_ for helping me with testing the end game DLC.
Not only that, but also because AL_GR33N_ made an excellent schedule and Legion funded a test server for 1 day.

Ok, time for End Game data.


Game modes
Capture The Flag
  • You have to capture the flag of the opposite team, as many as possible, but in a certain time limit.
  • The flags can be transported on foot and with every vehicle (AA, tanks, dirtbikes and scouts).
  • You can still shoot while holding a flag.



Air Superiority
  • Air Sup on console is 12vs12.
  • There is no runway for jets, you spawn immediately in the air
  • There are 3 flags to capture, and it gets captured pretty fast (a tad faster than CQD)
  • You can't bail
  • I got 10.000 jet xp in one round, and you only need 30.000xp for one service star.
  • Yes, everyone uses heatseekers
  • Fleight ceiling and floor are the same as in Caspian Border


Conquest
  • There is no runway for jets, you spawn immediately in the air
    Available vehicles (only tried the snow map so far):
  • 2 jets
  • 1 Attack Helicopter (no scouts)
  • 1 HMMWV ASRAD (AA)
  • LAV
  • Dirtbikes


Vehicles

Dirtbikes
  • Respawn time: 4 seconds
  • Speed: 60 km/h
  • easy handling
  • Just like Tank Destroyers in Armored Kill, they are everywhere


Dropship
I still didn't figure out its spawning system, but I think you can use it every x minutes.
So it doesn't fly around in circles like the AC-130, even though it looks like the same air vehicle.
There are two types of drops:
  • An IFV (check this video I made, sorry for the bad quality)

    Dropship LAV spawn


  • Paradrop, just like in Armored Kill. You can wait in the Dropship and jump whenever you want to


The new AA: HMMWV ASRAD
  • It has 2 anti air missiles and 4 dumb-fire missiles.
  • The dumb-fire missiles have less drop than a tank, but a bit more than the balanced bolt from the xbow.
  • The rockets fly less fast than tank shells though.
  • You can't kill people through the vehicle glass of the HMMWV ASRAD with bullets
  • Important: Dumb-fire missiles penetrate reactive armor of tanks, dealing 10% damage instead of full damage.

  • Respawn time: 20 seconds
  • Speed: same as the dirtbike -> 60 km/h
  • Turret speed on console: 4s for 360
  • Lock on range: 550m
  • Reload time: 8 seconds

    Damage vs air vehicles:
  • Jets -> AA: 45% / missile
  • Scout helicopter -> AA: 41% --- Dumb-fire: 29% / missile
  • Attack helicopter -> AA: 41% --- Dumb-fire: 29% / missile

    Dumb-fire damage / missile vs:
  • MBT -> Front: 21% - Side: 28% - Rear: 37%
  • IFV -> Front: 24% - Side: 24% - Rear: 24%
  • HMMWV ASRAD -> Front: 22% - Side: 22% - Rear: 22%
  • Dirtbike -> 83% on direct hit, 50% to the driver/passenger

    Dumb-fire damage / missile against infantry:
  • 50%
  • 50% splash damage

    Note: The missile flies through the soldier, so if you want to kill someone, youd have to aim to their knees, so they will also get 50% dmg from the splash,
    resulting in 100% damage = one hit kill.

    HMMWV ASRAD vs HMMWV ASRAD
  • You can only hit the driver of the new AA from the side
  • if you hit the RCWS, you will kill the gunner with one missile.

    Dumb-fire reload time:
  • 7.5 seconds


Disclaimer: this data was collected with in game tests, it wasn't extracted directly from the End Game game data!

Capture the flag

Can only score a point if you hold both yours and theirs. Not sure if thats how CTF works, but yeah.

Conquest

The dropship flies in a straight line from behind your own deployment, over the flags and out past the enemy deployment. Clearly, it would be best to drop the IFV behind enemy lines, but if you wait that long, there is a chance that someone on your team will take it before you. It's possible to pretty much land BEHIND your own deployment if you're not careful. Theres is a small circular indicator showing the position of the Dropship on the map in the Spawn screen.

Lightweight "AA" doesn't mean "anti-air" it means... anti-armor! Here's the new lightweight anti-armor taking out a tank at full health, head on, in four shots.



I think that may need a patch.
