there's a video on youtube where a guy demonstrates this with the KH2002 iirc. it's been suggested that all bullpup weapons benefit from this but i don't think anyone's confirmed it.

Than maybe I didnt noticed it cause I am using bullup weapons most of the time :)

bitchy wasn't my intention. i actually love the AUG, i think it's one of the finest, ingenious modern weapons ever designed, which is why i corrected you not know if you had known of the misspelling. I'd personally love to see the addition of that rifle to BF3.

While to the OP, i have noticed the same thing in regards to movement speed, more so with the KH2002 and the L85A2. I have no other means to back this statement other than my own in-game testing, done similarly to the youtube poster's test.

seeing as that the movement ADS time seems to be related to bullpup rifles i don't see this being a problem. the main concept behind bullpup rifles is the adaptation of a standard "battle rifle" type barrel in a shorter weapon length, giving the soldier a solid long range weapon that can also be used in CQC. I guess we'll have to wait for someone to create a more concrete test.

Re: Fast movements while aiming down sights

Lets start a race: Everyone picks a weapon from all types. Aiming down the sights, we strafe to one side for 5 seconds and look who came how far.

... or how to get valid information on this? I think moving aimed with PDWs is faster than mith LMGs too. But i would love to know it exactly.

Re: Fast movements while aiming down sights

Pick up a stop watch, find a long straight (the longer the more difference there will be for clearer results) with clear start and end obstacles, run with each weapon ADS and time it

It's more interesting to know which is "the fastest" than trying to get exactly how fast they are.

I was just about to say that I didn't have any stopwatch, but I just remembered that I have one in my cellphone...

Maybe I get some time to spare and do some testing... Takes quite a while to respawn with each gun though :|

Re: Fast movements while aiming down sights

Alright then.. The data we've all been waiting for! Only took 2 hours and ~50 suicides ;>

Did Seine conquest large, north of the C flag (the east bridge) there is a bridge pillar and a zebra crossing to the wall. the distance to the C flag (straight south) is 37-25 meters, so 12 meters. Started at the pillar and ran until I hit the wall (easy to see when you stop)

What I've found is 3 different speed classes, plus which direction you're heading. (didn't try reverse though)

1 - "Default" (standard running with un-aimed weapons, knives, grenades, various gear like repair tool etc)
2 - "Small arms" (PDW, pistols, some bullpups)
3 - "Large weapons" (large... weapons...)

Only 2 and 3 are used for primary weapons ADS, so I'll refer to it as fast or slow in the list.

Times on 12 meters: (+/- 0,05 seconds due to human laziness)

Forward:
1 - 3,20 seconds
2 - 4,30 seconds
3 - 6,40 seconds

Strafing: (only did one run each)
1 - 4,3 seconds
2 - 5,6 seconds

Thanks a lot Aenonar! *pulls out pom-pons*

I'm a bit confused now though, is that sprinting speed or speed while in ADS? Because the ones in category 1 can't ADS at all.

Re: Fast movements while aiming down sights

ah, well, category 1 is all forms of non aiming things and is identical for all weapons, large or small.. Forgot to add that one in to the description ;o 2 and 3 are ADS speed, so the list refers to that...

Umm.. Yeah... Been shoveling snow all day so head got too tired to formulate sentences properly ;>

Good work. I'm surprised that the QBZ-95B is a slow one though.

Re: Fast movements while aiming down sights

Thanks for those numbers Aenonar!
Symthic should put those into the chart since it's a pretty big deal considering how often you have to use your sights.
