Re: Accuracy of Slugs on Shotguns?

Thx for your answer!

I will stick with the M1014 then... (I love this gun since Counter-Strike!)
I agree with the fact that the 870MCS only let you one chance to kill. I'm far from being good enough to use it effectively, but a kill with it is really rewarding! (plus, it looks cool)

I've also noticed that buckshot make all the enemy squad turn toward you because they all received some pellets in their backs -:D- I these very short moments, I feel like I'm important to them. The second after, I'm lying on the ground...

Thanks again!

Re: Accuracy of Slugs on Shotguns?

Grand Bazaar, Strike at Karkand, Seine River are all good for shotguns to.

The only game I have ever seen slugs be useful in was the new Medal of Honor. You could outsnipe snipers the whole length of the map if you got your aim right. And they usually killed in 2 shots at even the most extreme of ranges. I feel like that game was fairly realistic though.

^ The difference between a clip and a mag is that the magazine is attached and without it theres an open spot but a clip is actually put inside the gun? Like, for example, you press something on the side of a pistol and the clip (mag?) drops out. Verses on an AK you remove the mag and put a new one in its place?

Slugs are also seemingly useless in this game in every shotgun except for the MCS.

Not sure if you were asking a question or not, but if you were, a clip fed weapon is the M1 Garand off BFBC2. You push the clip in to the gun. A mag is put in to a slot in the gun.

Pistols are mag fed.

I wish there were more pump action shotguns. There is no point to actually using the MCS.

Oooohhh, duh, I get it now... I can't even think of any guns in any recent shooters that are clip fed.

Re: Accuracy of Slugs on Shotguns?

Okay let me clear up
Mag vs Clip

A clip is usually a strip of metal that holds together or 'clips' rounds for insertion into a gun.
What seperates a clip from a magazine is that,
A CLIP RELOADS A MAGAZINE.

Yes you do use clips to reload stick magazines and the reason the word clip applies to guns like the M1 Garand is the fact that your loading the clip into the guns INTERNAL MAGAZINE.

Top 0% for the M1014 apparently :D

Thats actually what I was just thinking, thanks for clarifying. I was kinda trying to say that before, that the magazine is already part of the gun verses having to be replaced.

Re: Accuracy of Slugs on Shotguns?

You just can't rely on them. Today i was shooting someone in the chest with a slug coming from a 870 and he was left with 14hp. That would mean that he was about 17m away from me (f(x)=-1,851x+116,659), but it wasn't even 10m. Shit like that really pisses me off, since he should have been dead.

P.S.: Even if I had only hit his legs, he would have had to be 13m away.

They're loaded by a speedloader.. Which well.. is a speedloader, but you could sort of call it a clip since it's only a carrier of bullets.. But it works more like a magazine since you have to reload all bullets in one go, with stripper clips you could just load a couple (although you usually wait until you can load the whole clip). It's more like an "invisible magazine" holder

The 2 revolvers of this game reload into seperate sections of barrel which rotate in to the path of the main barrel each shot. These 6 sections of barrel are regarded chambers.
Revolvers do not house a magazine due to their revolving aspect. However a clip can be used as shown in BF3 and black ops where a clip is used to quickly reload all chambers at once rather than individually reloading each one.

Yea the hit detection on Shotguns is horrifically bad, this poses a severe handicap considering the fact that hit detection is EVERYTHING in close range. You can corner sweep as much as you like but if you first couple of shot don't register that's it.
Not to mention that the abismal net coding often means that unless you've got supreme internet connection that the enemy will almost always show up fractionally after he's already seen you.

It's all about whose TCP packet arrives first at the server... :(

The netcode has to be the biggest irrevocable failure of BF3. Both in terms of hit detection and cheating.
