Launchers and Explosives - General Data

Ok,

since the data for launchers and explosives is still missing from the charts and the existing values are widely spread over several threads I decided to gather the data and collect it here.

At the moment the only thing missing is the Javelin. I might add the M320 Buck too.

Of course I wouldnīt be s0urce if I didnīt do things, letīs say my way ;) Thanks to Aenonar, mashed8 and ToTheSun! for helping me with a few values.



If values are missing or marked as X they donīt exist. Like Suppression and Blast DMG for the M320 Smoke for example.

DMG DO Start (1st white line): Like AL_GR33N already explained is this the distance from impact where the damage drop off starts. This is similar to the damage drop off on the normal guns. As long as the impact of your M320 is closer than 0.35, it will deal a blast damage of 112.

DMG DO End (2nd white line): This is the radius where the LINEAR damage drop off ends and the blast damage reaches 0. Any enemy which is beyond 5.0 from the impact of the M320 will take no damage at all.

Those two values are actually written down in the gamefiles and define how blastdamage is dealt. If your enemy is between those tow lines, he will take damage somewhere from 112 to 0 depending on his distance to impact.

Deadzone (red line): This value is not defined anywhere. Itīs a value I calculated myself and tells you the point the blast damage drops below 100 which will kill a soldier without FLAK on vanilla. I just chose this "setup" because itīs what most people would encounter while playing (most people play vanilla and FLAK is not as common as for example AMMO).

Here is how to calculate it:

f(x) = - (blast DMG / ( DMG DO end - DMG DO start ) ) * x + blast DMG

Then you need to check where the graph goes below 100 (vanilla) or 60 (HC) and add the value to your DMG DO start. The result will be the "Deadzone". If you want to see the value with FLAK multiply the blast DMG with 0.85 before doing the above (FLAK: -15% to blast DMG).

Example: M320 HE vs soldier on HC with FLAK

blast DMG = 112 * 0.85 = 95.2

f(x) = - (95.2/(5.0-0.35))*x+95.2

graph hits 60 for x = 1.71

=> Deadzone = 0.35 + 1.71 = 2.06



ROCKET and MORTAR:

I will have to do some more testing for accuracte speed values on rockets and missiles. There seems to be a launch speed and a maxspeed which is achieved by the rocketengine which has a certain power and time to live. So the speed seems to differ from the direction you shoot it (up in the air or down from a hill for example).

As for the MORTAR...well itīs seems like the round "teleports" above the target and just falls straight down. This happens at a certain height after launch. Same as above but I might just try to add the maximum airtime at max range and the minimum airtime at mininum range. I will check what is possible...

The lockrange for the Stinger/Igla is not up to date. Everything else should be though. I am missing gamefiles right now to do a full check with the latest patches.

























Keep in mind. Those are the "raw" stats without any multipliers. Especially vehicles have certain mulitpliers which make launchers and explosives more or less powerful against them.

If I did mistakes just go ahaed and tell me them. I can easily correct them.



BTW:

For all who still work on the report for DICE. I will finish up the design in the next few days. After the latest poll it looks like Iīm using the soldier with a few adjustments (remove the smoke, replace arrows with symthic logo etc.). Since the other designs (Caspian for example) received a lot of votes too, I will try to integrate them somehow. Maybe for the credits page but I will see. Letīs get this report finished before the next patch guys ;)

Yes itīs vanilla. You basically add 0.5 to the DMG DO Start on Vanilla and 2.3 on HC. The deadzone for HC on the M320 HE is 2.65 from the impact. The distance for DO Start and DO End are the inner and the outer circle. Check the first pic which explains my charts.

Recalculated and corrected Deadzones. Check above on how to calculate them yourself.

I've gotten some decent use out of the LVG recently. I've found that simultaneously throwing a grenade and firing the LVG get a ton of damage into a small area very quickly and the two plus half a mag of P90 can clean out a room very quickly. This is rather useful for attacking confined places (first base of Grand Bazaar Rush, last base of Sharqi Rush).

Depends. LVG is very situational and weak compared to the grenade. The HE is a lot more effective if you use it to kill your enemies via destruction. The buildings on seine for example can cover a big area and easily triple the deadzone.
