Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Quoted from ""JimmSlimm""

small app made with help from plotic source in c#

made this to simulate a burst against a enemy to see damage made

it would be nice if someone could continue making it better.. or better looking :P

its really ugly at the moment, but here's how to use:
1. program executable is here: BF3aim\bin\Release
2a. choose a weapon in the droplist
2b. more weapons can be made in "weapons" folder, just copy a old .txt in there and change the numbers
3. click on dummy where to shoot (1 burst, 15 shots is hard-coded atm.)
4. see damage in console window

Thats what I meant. Didn't realise the URL's dont work.
And if it reading directly from the game files, what about us console players?

The T-90 is a challenge, the BTR-90 is going to kill everyone in a 100 meter radius and go flying off a hill into a helicopter only to drive off while the corpse of the Cobra it just went through is being dragged through the beach on Oman.
The game will include a fully automatic An-94 launcher, literally firing Abakans at 600 RPM.

If J3ST3R is dead, I think I just heard the entity that is grammar let out a sigh of relief...
To say nothing of the inordinate expense incurred by adding functionality to the gun that I may not ever use.

In terms of console players... if you are going by the stats that are on the site, you are using PC info already. Balance differences like that I would not think would be something they keep console-specific as the gun play should be the same across all platforms. I only have a PS3, so I thought the same thing. Unless someone knows a way to grab and decrypt the ps3/xbox files, this is all we have to go on.

I've looked at that program you mention, I wasn't really impressed.

@ Sym

Seems I will have to go over the entire silent run sub to verify it is matching the threaded run. I'll hopefully have something ready soon.

Is there any indicator in the sym files for the weapons that identifies how they are classified in terms of Assault,All,Support...etc?

In hindsight, I was rude and that really isn't fair to the programer.

Let me put this in a more constructive way....

What part of his program were you thinking would be nice in Plotic and why?

I would personally want to stay away from clicking to select your fire point as his does. I understand what he is attempting to show, but I'm on a console, so I don't really care where I am 'clicking' as I care about how the gun performs in the generic sense.

I got all excited when I saw you posted something today because I thought it was a new version of Plotic. Back to eagerly waiting, I suppose.

Not sure if this is in there, but I do like the idea of the weapon presets (I know you have already addressed this) as well as showing the damage output of the burst. I did like the click to aim too. Maybe that could be an option to toggle on or off?

Shouldn't this take into account the ROF? I would think that when the next shot fired in relation to the kick and recovery could affect the plot.

Except that the spread/recoil modifiers are per bullet, so ROF doesn't effect the final plot.

As far as I know, there isn't.

Also the ability to manually enter the values should be kept as opinion.

I can make some functions for decrease calculations if you want.
I'm sure it's confusing if you're not that good at math.

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

So for those of us whose major was in the school of Arts and Sciences can anyone give an approximation of how much this will change what the plots look like?

They will obviously become smaller to some extent...but how much are they off right now?
