Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Hmm... Ok... so...

At a distance of 10 meters the guy is a height of 1.8...

atan(10/1.8)=1.3878645605 <-Height in Radians
1.3876... * (180/pi) = 79.5187815 <-Height in Degrees
79.51... * 650 = 51687 <- height in Pixels

51k? Is that correct? That is almost 26 times the height of the bitmap.

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Oops, it's height/distance instead of distance/height.
That way it would return 6633px at distance of 10m
At 100m it would be 670px.

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Ok, so I think I've got the image scaling worked out and being rendered correctly.

Heatmaps now save separately if you choose to save the image and heatmap is checked. <image>_heatmap.png is the naming logic.

The next thing I will work on is getting the silent run to work. I just wanted to make sure I had worked out all of the existing render issues first.

Here are the three render modes. Mask is really for debug purposes. Not sure if it is needed.

I'm pretty sure the image scaling is correct.

I also put the my latest build up as well - Ploticv09.exe

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Theres something wrong with latest build;
Recoil seems to be dead, it's always 0.
Drawing the plot randomly stops.
Can't get past ~1700 bursts, usually it stops before 1000.
It might be due to commas and dots again....

Double.Parse(blabla, Globalization.NumberStyles.Any) might solve the , . problem?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what is causing the issues. I switched my localization to Finland and get an error as well. I'll try to work that out tonight since the scaling should all be in order now.

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

i just had a question i was interested in an answer on.

I know that recoil is factored into the shots for plotic, which is why additional rounds go up on the chart.

But does it factor in that the weapons settles slightly inbetween shots. Higher rof weapons have less settle between shots because of the amount of time between the rounds is less. Which could make a sizeable difference between what the famas spread would look like when compared to something firing much slower.

Is that something that should be considered in plotic.

Or is there such a little amount of settle inbetween rounds that its not noticeable?

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Ok... Plotic v0.92 should work across multiple localizations since I switched to numeric up/downs for the values since it still allows you to manually enter values but already casts it as a double. The string to double is what was fucking everything up.

I was able to run a run of 5000 bursts of 5 shots while i was in the Finnish locale.

I did experience the recoil behavior when i switched to Finnish during initial testing, but that no longer occurs, so you should be ok.

You can grab 0.92 here...

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Ok, v.94 has been posted and the source updated.

Silent runs should work. When you run Plotic, if the plotic_silent_template.ini is not located in the directory plotic was ran in, it will create it. This is to allow you to always have a current template file, if needed. No file will be written if the file already exists, you can just keep the template there.

You can then take that file, rename it to plotic_silent.ini, and update the settings.

If you run plotic and it detects that file in the same directory, it will start a run based on those settings and automatically close.

I just wanted to get something working, so there is no error checking if a setting is missing so always use the template until I can write up some documentation about what fields are required and add the catches to the code.

I tested it by setting my locale to both English(United States) and Finnish(Finland) without error. The template file does have a line to select what your decimal symbol is.

Very good point!!! That would explain the L85A2's good accuracy with its low rate of fire, because before i always wondered about the good accuracy as the other stats are relatively similar.

Re: Plotic - Graphical representation of weapon deadliness

Unless I'm missing something, v.94 of Plotic has trouble with certain values. For instance, it will allow no Min spread value smaller than 0.05 (though AS-VAL has a Min of 0.0) and no damage in decimals (though a few guns have minimum damages in decimals).
