Is there even a point to this thing?

No.

Then it shall remain my hipster sidearm :D

There is hipster and then there is completely worthless and needs to be smelted into a rod that will be better.

For me it's easily the mg36. I'm a support guy and I like EVERY lmg, other than this thing. Low ammo, low damage, high recoil, high spread. Bad :cursing:

Use it with bipod and extended mags. You will realize how versatile it is, being able to be used in an aggressive style as well as lock down an area with the bipod deployed. Other LMGs are either aggressive (other mag-fed LMGs) or defensive (all belt-fed LMGs). The MG36 can be both with great success.

And he is actually somewhat right. The MG36 is compareable to the rest of the mag-feed LMG´s. The only thing which is hugely different is the mag and reload. If you are going to use a M27 with exmags you might just go ahead and use the MG36 and you´ll receive 40 extra bullets.

In other words, this game's code looks like it's written by 5 year old kiddo compared to how DICE did things with BF3.

Meh. The m27 point is fair enough, but using the bipod extended mags argument is pretty difficult to argue for, the extended mags still places it behind the QBB and L86 with Hbar and I genuinely believe any belt fed will do better with extended mags and bipod simply due to added sprayability from having 200 rounds. But you're right the m27 and the mg36 are similarly bad

Yes, the belt-feds are overall better in locking an area down, but they are less accurate than the MG36, thus making the MG36 more versatile while on the move but still capable of spraying with a bipod + 100 rounds whenever necessary.

That's the point of the MG36: it's like a hybrid of a mag-fed and a belt-fed without the negatives of a belt-fed.

I can see that being the case but it picks up too many negatives from both categories without having enough positives, you essentially get a similar ammo count and recoil from the qbb hbar but a higher accuracy with the qbb not to mention the bullet velocity and quicker to deploy bipod. When it comes down to it though the lmgs are all pretty bad in one way or another. It's just the mg36 hits me right where I don't want flaws probably because it's so middle of the pack that it's GOOD at nothing but okay at everything FOR AN LMG, which is far worse than if it was any other gun type in this game.
